IF THE RUMP FITS, WEAR IT! (Part 1) by Stacey Mebane
KANSAS CITY, MO – Ms. Beyonce could not have written a better song for all of the “Bootylicious” bodies of the world. “Bootyliciousness” is my definition of a woman with curves in all of the right places. Well, this can be a good thing for the guys, but it is hard to find jeans that will roll up our calves and straighten up slightly to our thighs. And then there seems to be a slight problem – the jeans run out of stretch and fabric!
My fashion solution to finding the perfect jeans for the ‘Beauty with the Booty’ is to simply get your measurements for your curves. All curves on the road have different twists and turns so curves on our bodies work the same way. There are some curves that have more hills and some curves have more dents. The best start is to find jeans that fit your thighs so there is enough fabric to cover your booty.
For example, some ‘bootylicious’ girls think that low rider jeans a.k.a. hip huggers are the perfect fit, but they are not the jeans for the bigger bumps in the road. ‘Hip huggers’ are made to stop at the hips and when you have to cover junk in the trunk you will need a tad bit more fabric.
There is hope for our curves! The best place to start before we dive into the different styles and prices in part two is to visit www.truejeans.com. This site will help you set up a profile that can be saved and they will find the perfect match for your body type. The prices are pretty expensive, but I will cover the perfect style for the right price in part two. So, stay tuned and have a very ‘bootyful’ week.
