Nashay: What is your purpose?

Gospel Lyfe

HAVE YOU EVER ASKED YOURSELF: “WHAT IS MY PURPOSE IN LIFE?” By Minister Nashay Davis

KANSAS CITY, Kan – Have you ever asked yourself why God put you on this earth?  Do you often ponder on your goals in life and the legacy that you will leave behind?  Some of us are searching for our purpose. Others feel the struggles of life weighing down and think, Why am I still living?  Still others may know their purpose, but are confused about how best to unleash it. One thing that is clear: We were created to worship and give glory to the most High God.

Through Christ and with the leading of his Spirit, God has commissioned us to, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:18).  Now I know what you are thinking: “I’m not a preacher and can’t teach a lick”.  And frankly I’d rather you not force those things or call them into existence if they “just ain’t there”. However, God has placed within each one of us a special gift, talent, calling, or hobby that we can share with others for His glory.

These gifts are given to you, not to entertain or place in a box, but to share them with others so that they may “see your good works and glorify their Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).  You may be surprised how the smallest handmade quilt, a friendly phone call, a sweet melody, or the timely smile may cause someone to see something special in you and want to know what it is that makes you different from the rest. Though each of us has various gifts and callings, we have but one purpose: to build the  kingdom  of  God  by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ for all men to hear.

And remember, you do not have to be able to hoop with the best of them or know the Bible from beginning to end. All God wants is a willing and faithful heart. Be creative, find your passion, and commit your all to the ‘Most High.’  Didn’t he promise that he would be with you always, even unto the end of the world?  You are not alone.  Keep the faith, listen to his instructions, begin your work, and soon He will open the door for your ministry–whatever it might be–to flourish!

I am still trying to find my purpose in life but I will always have faith. Sometimes I get impatient and lose focus instead of letting God guide my direction.

Purpose, ah yes, the reason we exists. Can’t know our purpose until we get to know the word of God. until we know who we are spiritually, our existence is dependent on how we have been defined by our friends, family, schools, or career. Getting to know God lets us know who we really are and what we are capable of. Good subject matter.
