READ THIS: Jenne Reed Laytham presents “The GET List” Phase One

BASEHOR, Kan – No, the following are not necessarily books you need to “get” aka “buy.” Rather, they are books to help you “get this” or “get that”. Confused? I agree. That was confusing. Please keep reading and all will be revealed…

GET ORGANIZED – Your Office, Your Home, Your Life

1. Getting Organized in the Google Era: How to Get Stuff out of Your Head, Find It When You Need It, and Get It Done Right by Douglas Merrill, James A. Martin (2010): We have so many devices that we store information on that it’s really over-whelming! This book will give us a plan to tackle our info overload problems – just in time for some of us who are about to go under.

“Douglas Merrill has worked a near-miracle: In short, simple steps, he shows how to become powerful and confident in a world of too much info and too little time. This isn’t just the book I wished I’d written, it’s the book I need to give to people I care about.” – Quentin Hardy, Forbes Magazine.

2. Unclutter Your Life in One Week by Erin R. Doland (2009): Who doesn’t have one week to unclutter their whole life? I am skeptical, to be sure, but I’m more than willing to give this one a try. Here’s one glowing testament from another author you should check out: “One of the biggest questions people have about organizing is where do I start? Erin’s wonderful book provides that answer-telling you exactly where to start, and what to do next, and next, and next. Very practical and accessible!” – Julie Morgenstern, author of SHED Your Stuff, Change Your Life

3. Getting Organized by Stephanie Winston (2006): Stephanie Winston is one of the best organizers out there. At the beginning of this book is a quiz called “How organized are you?” and I am sad to say that I flunked. I’m sure I have plenty of company though – go ahead and see if you can do better. Getting Organized  is very reader friendly – all of the sections are clearly marked allowing you to pick and choose what areas you want to tackle. No need to read this one cover to cover before you get started..

That should be enough to get you started all of you organized wannabe’s. But, stay tuned for more…next time it’s the “GET LIST” PART 2: GET A JOB.
