WAR rocked the fans in KC

“WAR” ROCKED A HYPED KANSAS CITY CROWD DURING NAACP CONVENTION, by Crystal Booker
KANSAS CITY, Mo – Popular music group “WAR” held a free concert in Kansas City’s Power & Light District as part of the 101st Annual NAACP Convention. Thousands of attendees descended upon KC from dignitaries to celebrities; practically everyone of importance was here. Kansas City was the place to be for a week of fellowship and fun. First Lady Michelle Obama spoke on Monday, July 12 about the growing concern of teen obesity.
Later that day, Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson addressed the crowd during a press conference concerning NAACP issues. After that, WAR took over. This band still has it after all these years! The night presented a perfect opportunity to sit back, relax and listen to great music under the stars. WAR performed such fan favorites as “The Cisco Kid” and many others. It was awesome! Everyone had a great time. WAR definitely kept the crowd entertained with their energy.
Once their calypso beat hits your feet, you can’t help but move, groove and shake. The crowd was even moved to sing along. If you get a chance to see WAR in person, do it. It will be an experience you’ll never forget. I am giving their performance a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars.
