KC Woman killed on I-470

KANSAS CITY WOMAN WAS KILLED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT IN LEE’S SUMMIT. By Mass Appeal

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. – Virginia Bruce, 40, of Kansas City perished Monday afternoon when her disabled vehicle was struck by another car that had driven off the road on Interstate 470. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 3 p.m. in the westbound lanes just west of Pryor Road in Lee’s Summit.

A vehicle driven by 36-year-old Crystal McCoy drove off the right side of the highway and rammed into Bruce’s car. Both cars ended up inside a ditch. Unfortunately, Bruce was pronounced dead at the scene. McCoy and a female passenger in Bruce’s vehicle were taken to area hospitals for medical treatment. Both suffered minor to moderate injuries.
