Shemar is leaving Criminal Minds.
Mass Appeal Wire Reports
LOS ANGELES — Ladies, brace yourself. After 11 creepy seasons, Shemar Moore is saying adios to “Criminal Minds” so that he can travel, walk his dogs and start a family. Shemar, 45, starred as FBI special agent Derek Morgan since the show began. He completed his final episode on Wednesday (March 23). “It’s a weird experience,” Shemar said. “I just spent 11 years with a group of people and it’s a weird thing to walk away from — but I did it on my terms and in the right way.” Within the past few episodes… Derek was kidnapped, tortured and damn near killed before realizing his fiancée Savannah (Rochelle Aytes) was pregnant.

The couple did, however, get hitched shortly after Derek’s abduction, then Savannah gave birth to a bouncy baby boy. Shemar posted a video on CBS.com to thank his fans for years of support. “This is not goodbye. This is goodbye to this part of a dream, this chapter. I’m not going anywhere,” he said.
Even though his exit comes as a shocker, Shemar ain’t the first original cast member to call it quits. Mandy Patinkin, who played Jason Gideon, left in 2008 after two seasons due to theatrical differences.
Did Shemar do the right thing?
