Netflix jail series returns this June.
Mass Appeal Wire Reports
LOS ANGELES — “The animals, the animals, trapped, trapped, trapped ’til the cage is full.” Ever since the 4th season of Netflix’s explicit prison dramedy “Orange is the New Black” concluded, rabid fans have been clamoring for the program’s fifth installment of the series. Well, their wishes have been granted. The lovely inmates of Litchfield Penitentiary are back… and they’re bad. Season five of “Orange is the New Black” is scheduled to hit the online streaming service on June 9.

The date was validated in an ephemeral teaser video that was posted on the show’s official Twitter page and it contained the menacing caption: “There’s no turning back.” If you recall, the theme of last season’s show was centered around acts of racism and hate groups.
Black, White and Hispanic inmates were content to segregate.
Budget cuts and a shortage of corrections officers certainly didn’t help.
The finale ended with inmate Daya pointing a gun at the head of a crooked prison guard as a riot broke out. The new season will pick up from there, but every episode will be recorded over the course of three days. Again, the series returns June 9. Expect the prisoners to venture into even darker territory.
