LOS ANGELES — Eddie Murphy is on fire! Just weeks after the premiere of his hit biopic “Dolemite Is My Name,” the 58-year-old actor signed an indenture with Netflix to star in “Beverly Hills Cop 4.” Talk of a reboot has been going on for awhile. But Eddie finally put pen to paper to make it happen. After a 25-year hiatus, Axel Foley is back on the streets. If you recall, “Beverly Hills Cop 3” came out in 1994. “I figured out a way to connect the dots — there has to be some kind of record, I don’t know if there’s ever been a sequel 30 years afterward — that’s what we’re doing now,” Eddie said.

“I’m just over the moon how it’s turning out. I used the same director that I used for ‘Dolemite Is My Name’ and some of the actors. [Dolemite] went so well that we just wound up on this next project.”

In addition to Beverly Hills Cop, Eddie is also working on “Coming to America 2.”

Are you excited about the sequels?

Did Eddie wait too long?

  1. Hey, if Bad Boys 3 film can happen then I say why can’t Beverly Hills Cop 4?

  2. I don’t understand. Why is a fourth ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ getting released on Netflix? The ‘Coming to America’ sequel is getting a theatrical release so why isn’t a fourth ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ getting one? It needs a theatrical release

  3. Hope it’s better then the 3rd because that was so bad.

  4. It should be made for the movies, not Netflix. It’s been so many years now that I’m just hoping they don’t screw it all up, and put it together like a dog’s breakfast like Beverly Hills cop 3? It’s obviously going to be his last sequel to this thing, and they should put it together with good actors, good help, and a really good suspenseful storyline? They should focus on making it as good as the first one but only a little bit better, or don’t bother making it at all?

  5. Jean Luc Picard

Hopefully they’ll reunite John Ashton and Judge Reinhold with Eddie Murphy. Their characters chemistry is what made the first two movies great.

I’m not saying I don’t want this, but I’d much rather see the sequel to Twins with Eddie, Arnold and Danny. This however makes sense, as it’s been a good few years since Eddie Murphy has been a box office draw, and a revival like this can be hit or miss depending on how long it has been since the last and the popularity it has kept. BHC4 is the sort of movie that like Dolemite, people gish about on Social media, then they do to Netflix and low and behold, all 4 movies are there, and then people are pleasantly surprised by these great films they got for simply opening an app.

  7. Now let’s get leathal weapon 5 and a Dirty Harry remake on Netflix.

  8. Eddie Murphy is once again a major film star after Dolemite. Please don’t screw that up Paramount & drop the ball with Beverly Hills Cop 4! Beverly Hills Cop 3 was a steaming pile of shit, it’s probably best that this franchise dies.

Nope. Too late, and no one cares!

  10. That’s an embarrassment to put Beverly Hill Cops 4 on Netflix it should be in the movie theater

  11. powerhustler410

    No No No 🤦‍♂️

  12. Man I LOVE the Beverly Hills Cop movies, just keep it real though. Don’t try to overfluff the movie with insane graphics and action stunts etc. Bring it back to the old school “cop” movies that were great. That’s what everyone wants to see.

  13. So glad he’s doing Beverly hills cop 4 hope everyone’s coming back.

  15. He’s back that’s all I gotta say thank you Eddie and don’t leave us again everything is gonna be a hit all over again history is repeating itself can’t wait for the new coming to america I know dolomite both films are gonna be hits and wait it gonna be a 🔥🔥🔥🔥

  16. No. Beverly Hills Cop, the Police Academy films, were pleasantly entertaining during the 1980’s. Before Rodney King. Before so many Americans used video cameras to record the things police actually do.

    It’s not funny anymore.

I’ll watch it, but I don’t think this is a good idea. Beverly Hills Cop 3 was okay, but they dont need to continue the franchise. I’m a fan of Eddie Murphy, so I’ll be sure to check it out, whenever it drops on Netflix.

  23. No more fucking Remakes please

  24. Beverly Hills Cop 2 is the best

  25. Maybe a Beverly Hills Cop remake with Kevin Hart as Axel Foley!

  26. Man, I am so excited for everything Eddie has coming up. Dolemite was fantastic and I am super stoked for Coming to America 2! Makes me a bit sad that Charlie Murphy is not around to enjoy this new success with him!
