Editor’s Bio

Wayne Edward Hodges, the Topeka Democrat Examiner, is the Editor-in-Chief of “Mass Appeal News.” Wayne, an MPA at the University of Kansas, is a candidate for Kansas Senate District #7 and Johnson County PCT Committeeman 2nd Ward, Precinct #2. He also served as a legislative intern under Kansas Senator Chris Steineger. In addition to politics, Wayne does periodic radio podcasts for Mass Appeal News. He has also written several political/economic/entertainment articles for the Kansas City Star, Kansas City Kansan and Kansas City Call newspapers. Wayne, a huge supporter of the Johnson County Democratic Party, is currently an adjunct professor at Park University in Kansas City.

As both an MBA and scholar at St. Mary University, Wayne graduated with honors Cum Laude; and received Academic All-American honors from the “Delta Epsilon Sigma National Honor Society” and “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities.” Wayne, who is licensed in Kansas and Missouri, is also a realtor with Reece Nichols in Prairie Village, Kansas. His professional background includes over 12 years experience in property appraisals, county tax assessment, mortgage lending, commercial income modeling, credit card auditing, and comparative market analysis.

A Kansas City native, Wayne is both the founder and president of Project CLIMB (Community Learning & Improvement through Motivational Building). And he’s also a distinguished member of several prestigious professional organizations which include the Newspaper Association of America, Kansas Association of Broadcasters, Mainstream Coalition, National Association of Real Estate Brokers, National Association of Realtors, American Planning Association, Kansas Real Estate Commission, Missouri Real Estate Commission, Kansas Secretary of State Notary Public, Kansas Association of Realtors, and the Appraisal Institute.
