ATLANTA — Reality TV star NeNe Leakes laid her husband’s soul to rest on Labor Day with a tear-jerking ‘Celebration of Life’ ceremony in Atlanta. Gregg Leakes died “peacefully” on September 1st following a strenuous bout with booty cancer. He was 66. Ernest Dukes, their publicist and longtime friend, issued a statement. “Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart,” he wrote. “After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes. We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family & allow them to mourn in private during this very very difficult time.”

Monday’s star-studded homegoing was hardly private. As a matter of fact, everybody and they mama showed up and that includes ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ stars Lisa Wu, Phaedra Parks, Marlo Hampton, Porsha Williams and Eva Marcille. Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey didn’t attend the event.

Both were recently fired from ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’

Gospel performances were delivered by Keke Wyatt, Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell and Le’Andria Johnson.

NeNe, 53, also shared a photo that shows her canoodling with Gregg.

The image contains the caption: “Today we celebrate you Gregg with love, just the way you wanted it💔.”

  1. Why do folks say they want to mourn in private but got the whole damn funeral service for all the public to see🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️Anyway she got Gregg in that photo looking like he about to audition for a new soap opera I love it!! RIP Greg!!

  2. My SINCEREST SYMPATHY and CONDOLENCES to the LEAKES family, their relatives, love ones and friends. Rest In Eternity Gregg
    HUGS🙏🏿☝️🏿💯

  3. Gregg was just a good, gentle dude. His personality was so different from Nene, it makes you wonder what he even saw in her.

    Rest in peace, sir.

  4. I’m confused how you ask to mourn in private, yet have a camera crew at the memorial and put it on the internet? RIP Greg though, he gave off good vibes.

  5. He was a lovely man but his wife was a bitch to him as he really was to good for her he deserved better

  6. @Ashoikie Saunders: Kandi was on tour and posted a beautiful video tribute in song with her girls before a performance.

Kenya is in LA filming dancing with the stars

  7. R.I.P

Side note: Colon & Prostate Cancer are silent killers of black men, because of failure to be tested and proper health care.
I urge you gentlemen that haven’t been tested to do so immediately.
    Prayers up

  8. @Brown Sugar Babe: My cousin passed last month from what started as colon cancer. Colon cancer is one of the easiest cancers to cure and one of the most deadly in that people wait too long to speak up when there is something wrong. My cousin let it fester I’m quiet until it had already spread. Black men make up 50% of all men that get prostate cancer. Again, not wanting to speak up about constantly needing to urinate because they don’t want anyone messing around back there 😔

  9. This is heartbreaking 💔 Gregg was a kind gentle man! Rest In Peace

  10. Who cares if Kandi, Kenya or Cynthia came is wasn’t about them it’s about celebrating Greg Leakes life. If they wanted to be there they would have done what Porsha did. Love to The Queen of RHWOA Ms Leakes ❤ 💕

  11. @ligte: she was worth 12 million more than GREG she was the cash cow fool

  12. I am proud to say I never watched an episode so I don’t know the type of man he was. But he was a person with loved ones and he is sleeping till he hear our King’s voice tell him to get back up again. 🙏🏾

  13. @MslatsyrK: Good dude, voice of reason, always had her back, and never picked sides. He was the opposite of what most reality tv husband’s are.

  14. R I H GREG, THANK GOD THE LADIES SHOWED UP, PORSHA AND MY GIRL PHADRA GONNA ALWAYS SUPPORT

  15. I wonder if his cancer came back because he did not take chemotherapy when the doctor told him?

  16. Lord I can’t imagine losing my husband… my best friend! Bless NeNe and RIP Greg😇😭

  17. Gregg was an outstanding man who treated all the ladies of RHOA with respect and loved a woman who tried her hardest to make herself so hard to love and he did it with understanding and unconditionally. He was a funny. He was smart. He was a good man and he will be missed.

  18. *Many of you need to GET A LIFE!!!* Instead of sending your condolences and moving on you’re canvassing the video trying to peep who was and wasnt there; *🗣WERE YOU THERE?*
Kenya and Kandi are at engagements that CANNOT be broken! Rest Well Gregg, you no longer have to suffer in pain!🙏🏽🕊#GregoryLeonLeakes

  19. To all the people commenting on who did or didn’t come, this is about Gregg. Not about who Nene would want there. Most of those ladies were just cast mates and colleagues. And sometimes in life you just get to the end of the road with people. Its ok that they didn’t make it. Heck sometimes even your own family doesn’t. RIP Greg.

  20. Kenya should be happy. She doesn’t have to pay guys to pretend to love her anymore.

  21. Never trust a woman who bashed a sick man when he was first going through it she was running him through the mud she was even out at her lounge days before he died this chick has no class I don’t care how much money she thinks she has

  22. I utterly loved Gregg and his positivity. Very few celebrities really clutched my heart like Gregg and NeNe. They are like the people’s couple. I pray NeNe recognizes she was THAT GIRL, THAT RIDE OR DIE. My heart, my thoughts and my prayers are truly with she and her family.

  23. Pray for all those stricken with cancer. It’s so sad we still don’t have cure. Yet millions of dollars are donated to the cancer society 😢😔☹️😕Rip Greg

  24. Nene never acknowledged The Leakes family at the celebration- totally ignored them.

  25. Gotta make it nice for that big check coming 💰💰💰💵💵💵💵 guarentee she had a big policy out on him

  26. CURED of Cancer & NOW dead at 66?🤔🤔🤔🤔 Looks like a SACRIFICE TO ME..

  27. It sounds like Gregg was really a kind person because people are really showing empathy, and kindness to Nene despite her attitude towards people.
I have not heard one negative thing about Gregg only Nene. She really had a 💎, and he even dealt with her feisty attitude showing her love even when she was out doing her own thing. Wow!

  28. There’s is no peace without Jesus Christ: you must be born again. Hell is waiting for anyone without Jesus Christ

  29. Sorry to hear about Greg’s passing…Nene’s unconditional love showed until the end..Great woman!!! We can all learn from her on how to stand with your partner in sickness and in health til death do you part! It’s only temporary Nene. One day you’ll see each other again for all eternity! ❤️❤️❤️

  30. Love myself some Greg, rejoice in his goodness and y’all will always be happy because he was a good man 💯❤️🙏✈️

  31. I don’t know about you guys but I’m worried about dying from cancer more than dying from COVID-19. It seems like that’s the next thing that’s taking good people out of this world.

  32. What the hell is wrong with you sick as mother fuckers, If you don’t have something positive to say do not go on somebody else page and post negative shit, You people don’t have a life . the person who posted that NeNe will be sucking (D), well you already have one in your mouth that why you think this one. Negative son of a bitch.

  33. @Peaches: Of course he was a blood sacrifice so that NENE CAN STAY relevant . She is not surprised ,SHE wanted to offer him as a blood sacrifice JUST like KEISHA COLE did with her mother .what a pity .THERE is a photo of NENE and GREGG with their family and just about everybody in the photo is holding up SATANIC FREEMASON SIGNS with their hands including GREGG ,SO GREGG also told SATAN to come and get him ,right along with NENE and the rest . WHAT A STUPID PITY .
