LOS ANGELES — If you recall, Tisha Campbell sued Martin Lawrence in 1997 for being overly amorous. Twenty-five years later, they’ve let bygones be bygones. During an appearance on Thursday’s episode of the PEOPLE Every Day podcast, Tisha revealed the cast of Martin is “all healed” after the sitcom came to screeching halt amid her sexual harassment allegations. The 53-year-old actress spoke about the opportunity to join her costars again for “Martin: The Reunion” which premiered Thursday night on BET+. Tisha was a little nervous. But it had nothin’ to do with the reunion. She was more concerned with fan reaction. “I hope people embrace it as much as they say they do,” Tisha said. “I wasn’t nervous about getting together with the cast, ’cause we are still friends.” When asked to expound upon the lawsuit, she replied: “Everything else is a personal situation that we’ve all healed from. So we’re not even gonna talk about it.” Martin, 57, was more loquacious, saying, “It is nothing but love with me and her. It’s nothing but love.” Nothin’ but love? Tisha ruined your show then drove you towards a mental breakdown.
She had Martin standing in the middle of traffic, cussin’ out drivers.
Carl Anthony Payne, who played Cole Brown, downplayed the sitcom’s cessation — calling it a family affair. “I mean, you know, every family has its drama,” Carl, 53, explained. “Every family has its trials and tribulations and things like that. And every good thing must come to an end. I think it could have gone on longer, but it is what it is until it ain’t.” The Fox sitcom ran for four seasons when all hell broke loose. Martin and Tisha did, however, return for a fifth and final installment under the stipulation they couldn’t shoot scenes together. Martin swore he didn’t touch Tisha. But he settled anyway because she was a royal pain in the ass.
Fans think Tisha is using Martin to get back in the limelight. After all, she ain’t done sh*t since “My Wife and Kids.” Meanwhile… Tisha’s BFF — Tichina Arnold (Pam) — is starring alongside Cedric the Entertainer in the hit CBS sitcom “The Neighborhood.”
Thomas Mikal Ford, who played unemployed Tommy, died 6 years ago.

The situation on Martin was straight up black on black crime on full display. Something that could have been settled quietly behind the scenes but no she made a public power play and it backfired and solidified her reputation as being difficult to work with. Now those allegations are serious and I donât know any woman who is now cool with a guy who sexually harassed them which now makes the original claim suspect and as a result execs were like thanks but no thanks. In my opinion, Tisha Campbell have set a bad example for sexually assault victims. If a man or woman that claims someone violated them in an inappropriate manner. You should reframe from ever being associated with that person. This is why no one ever believe victims. Unless they have hard core receipts to back up their claim.
Tisha apparently do not see nothing wrong with this situation. You claim Martin sexually violated you . His career took a hit, He had to be run through the mud through the media, he had a mental breakdown in which I believe was the result of the sexual assault claim. Now you and Martin is bosom buddy. Martin had a bunch of issues back then including being accused of abuse by his first wife. The whole cast in their own way spoke to that situation and basically said Martin started bugging especially once he gained more power behind the scenes of the show. You donât know that he didnât harass Tisha. Meanwhile Tisha did five or six seasons of My Wife and kids on a major network after Martin and has had steady roles over the years since.

She may not have blown up the way Martin did (he was a comedian, he was the star of âMartinâ and his career was on a different trajectory) but donât act like she didnât work after Martin. She was on âMy Wife And Kidsâ w/ Damon Wayans that lasted 5 seasons and a slew of other television seriesâ, she hosted BET Awards several times w/ Her partner in crime Tichina Arnold. Sheâs worked damn near her whole life. From Broadway to TV to film. Put some respek on her name.
She and Martin were dating then she dumped him for Dawayne Martin. Martin started doing things to make her uncomfortable. She was on my wife and kids later. She quit for a while to raise her children with Dawayne. They divorced over money because they made some bad investments.
She now realizes that Martin was the man who she should have married. They would have been a power couple and made the world laugh.

If the allegations are true I respect her for not cheating on her husband. Most women wouldâve folded under pressure at the thought of being blackballed from the industry. However if heâs innocent sheâs a rotten bytch. But weâll probably never know the full truth. His story, her story & the truth.

Season 5 is hard to watch. You can see how the allegations was draining him. You can tell in season 4 that there was sexual chemistry there, and Tisha broke his heart. I watch Martin everyday.

Watching the Martin reunion was sad losing Thomas Ford and awkward watching how Tisha acting like that allegation never occurred which prematurely ended the show. Duane Martin definitely wasnât having Marty Mar kissing and touching Gina any longer! We all know thatâs what really happened. It was all good with Tisha until she married Duane.
