What makes people hesitant to believe these Hollywood conversion stories (you’re right) is profit. No, of course she isn’t expected to get rid of all her money. However, if in a year or so, she is a Christian social media icon, I’ll remember that she was on the cusp of aging out as a sex product- and then switched to some other lucrative business. Very sad to say. And I do hope she’s authentic.
But it’s time we talk about the elephant in the room and call out those that use Jesus as an excuse to make money, or as a political platform. I have no stomach for it anymore. There was a day when I would have cheered her on but now, while I’m still hopeful, I’m tragically cynical.
