DALLAS — “🎵This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.🎵” You can stick a fork in Bishop T.D. Jakes because he’s done. The 67-year-old pastor, who suffered cardiac arrest mid-sermon, blindsided his congregants on Sunday when he announced he’s stepping down from The Potter’s House of Dallas — a megachurch he built in 1996. Then he named his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and son-in-law, Touré Roberts, as his successors. No surprise here. Sarah and Touré are co-pastors at ONE: A Potter’s House Church in Los Angeles. They also served at The Potter’s House in Denver. Sarah paid tribute to her father via Instagram. “The carpet is stained with your sweat,” she wrote. “The walls rehearse your sermons. The pews have been baptized with testimonies of wanderers turned believers. There is no Potter’s House Dallas without Bishop T.D. Jakes.” Jakes, if you recall, suffered a “massive heart attack” while preaching on November 24, 2024. He collapsed on stage and was rushed to the hospital.
Doctors said Jakes was 5 minutes away from gettin’ his wings. That’s why he’s calling it quits to place cynosure on his health. “I have seen too many men build something and stay so long that they kill what they built,” Jakes told his 30,000 members while fighting back tears. “I cannot afford, especially after November, to risk something happening to me and you be sheep without a shepherd.”
Many believe Jakes is stepping down amid scuttlebutt he had a dalliance with Diddy.
He’s also being sued for molesting young boys.
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “People worship these rich ‘evangelicals’ like they’re wealthy superstars. I read the comments on his recent Instagram post with his wife, and I was dumbfounded to read people talking about them as a ‘King and Queen,’ and how they ‘slay’ with what they’re wearing. People treat this like it’s a family business, a show, EVERYTHING except HUMBLY serving the Lord. I just shake my head.”
Another chimed in with, “We know the REAL reason. Unfortunately, the SUCCESSORS are even worse. The congregation & board of governors are the blindest sheep ever.”

God is not mocked… he made millions out of preaching sugar coated sermons, emotionally manipulated millions, created a business empire from being a “Pastor” and misleading the flock. You could be as strong as a Bull, roar as loud as a lion, feel invincible, gloat on the fame and money that makes you dizzy with pride.
But God waits, and watches and when he’s had enough, he’ll remind us that we cannot stand on our two feet, hold a mic, or even frame a sentence without him. The very pulpit that he used to mock and misuse God’s Word is the pulpit God is using to show his wrath against TD. His hand, his voice, his body is withering away much before his time (67 years). No medical doctor can cure him even with his millions of ill gotten gain.
God is Holy. He is to be revered. Not to be mocked. Read his Word, and DO NOT waste your life listening to Charlatans.
