Crazy chick shoots her BFF before kidnapping her twins

SAVANNAH — First, Ann Pettway ran off with newborn Carlina White. Now this. Angela Montgomery, 23, was thrown in the slammer after she shot 23-year-old Gabrielle Rodgers and stole her 6-week old twins. The neonate theft transpired on May 11, 2021 in Savannah, Georgia. According to court documents, Angie befriended Gabby after they met in a mommy group via social media. Angie, who can’t have children, was secretly jealous of the bond Gabby has with her twin boys — Matto and Lorenzo. So, on the day of the crime, Angie showed up at Gabby’s residence pretending to bring items for the neonates. Then, out of the blue, Angie grabbed Gabby by the throat and a bout of fisticuffs ensued. After several punches were thrown, Angie pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Gabby multiple times. Then, Angie fled the scene with the twins.
Neighbors heard the shots and called authorities. Gabby was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Angie was busted at her boyfriend’s house 5 hours later. Police found her hiding in a closet with the gun used in the shooting. Thank goodness, Matto and Lorenzo weren’t harmed. Angie was arrested and charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault.
She claimed to be non compos mentis, so detectives took her crazy ass to a psychiatrist.
“What happened today is every mother’s worst nightmare,” Savannah Police Chief Roy Minter told reporters.
“We are so thankful that Matto and Lorenzo were located quickly and were ultimately unharmed. This was an all hands on deck approach. Everyone in the Savannah area was looking for this suspect and the twins. The detectives, in this case, worked quickly, tracking down every available lead while working with our local, state, and federal partners. Still, the case would not have moved as swiftly if it had not also been for community assistance. SPD, and I’m sure the rest of the city, hopes to see the children’s mother make a full recovery and be reunited with her sons as soon as possible.”
Social media reaction was fierce.

A third person added, “Aggravated assault!?!?!?! She made up an alias, she joined mommy groups, found the perfect victim, got a weapon and went to the victim’s house, tried to kill her then stole her babies!!! That’s attempted murder at the VERY least!!!”
When asked why she purloined the babies, Angie said they belong to her twin sister.
Only problem is she don’t have a twin sister.

I promise you that when I was pregnant with my daughter and son, I would not accept new friendships nor did I ever post or talk about my due date with anyone other than my immediate family. People are so crazy these days.

When a stranger befriends you while you are pregnant offering gifts and support, beware!
I’m pregnant with my first right now and this is my biggest fear with joining mom groups. People always seem nice and like they just want to help but you genuinely never know people’s true motives. It’s sad.
See this is why I was so paranoid during my pregnancy and after birth. Pregnant and new moms are super vulnerable. People are straight up evil and will target u. I had this instinct to just isolate, which wasn’t great for my mental health, but I think it was an instinct for a reason. This poor woman, so glad she’s ok and her babies were saved. Ugh, humanity sucks.
If you are pregnant, do not let anyone you meet on line to bring baby items to your home.
Meet in a public place & bring a male with you!
Instead of her kidnapping the mother’s babies, why can’t she just go to a foster care and adopt some

Montgomery was evaluated by a mental health professional at the request of her lawyer. She pleaded guilty to the following but added that she was mentally ill:
1. Criminal attempt to commit murder and aggravated assault – 30 years
2. Kidnapping – 20 years (concurrent) with life of probation
3. Kidnapping – 20 years (concurrent) with life of probation
