BIRMINGHAM — “🎵It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.🎵” Ozzy Osbourne, the hellraising rock icon and frontman of Black Sabbath, has migrated to that big concert stage in the sky. The Prince of Darkness kicked the bucket on Tuesday, just 17 days after he did his “Final Bow” concert with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham, England. Ozzy was 76. It was the band’s first performance in decades. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away…” Ozzy’s family said in a statement to CNN. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.” During a 2023 appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Ozzy admitted his health was all f*cked up. He was an alcoholic and cocaine addict with Parkinson’s disease.

Doesn’t get much worse than that.

“It’s been five years of absolute hell for me and the family,” Ozzy said. “My family has been so supportive. I couldn’t have done it without them. It’s been really a bad scene. I have Parkinson’s — but I never think about it.” To say Ozzy was batshit psycho on stage would be a vast understatement. If you recall, the Grammy winner once bit the head off a bat. He also tossed raw meat onto concertgoers.

Celebrities were quick to react to Ozzy’s quietus.

Flava Flav: “Man, real heartbroken over the passing of Ozzy Osbourne. We go way back and it was a real honor to watch him get inducted into the Rock Hall last year. Sending my love and prayers to Sharon and his kids and the whole family.”

Elton John: “He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly.”

Rob Zombie: “Goodbye Ozzy. Thanks for everything. It was always a blast being around you. 🦇 You will be missed.”

Ozzy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006 and as a solo artist in 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and his six children.

  3. Ozzy Osbourne had his DNA sequenced and it turns out he was a legit mutant. I kid you not. The genetic mutation that they found, in hindsight, is pretty much the ONLY reason he survived all the booze and cocaine when it would would have flat lined literally anyone else

  4. I always felt he was on borrowed time so his death, while sad, didn’t surprise me. Loved some of his tunes and that reality show…hilarity!! R.I.P.

  11. Cannot bring myself to be saddened over Mr. Osbourne’s passing. It’s not out of spite or lack of respect. It’s just, considering all that’s been said and written about him, Osbourne making it to 76 seems like nothing short of a goddamned miracle. Really. RIP.

  20. Sometimes you realize how much something or someone meant to your life after they’re gone. He was the soundtrack to my teens, the parties, the midnight moments of solitude. I was surprised how hard Ozzy’s passing hit me. He meant so much to so many…
