EAST ST. LOUIS — The only certain things in life are death, taxes and down-low men deleting transgender women. Martino Lewis, 21, was thrown in the slammer after he murdered 25-year-old trans woman Kelsey Elem during an argument. The homicide transpired around 11 p.m. on April 24, 2025 in East St. Louis. According to reports, Martino and Kelsey had contretemps over something trivial. When the tranny threatened to expose their homosexual secret, Martino punched him in the mouth. Then he pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Kelsey in the head. Martino — who fled the scene — was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder, domestic assault and armed criminal action. He’ll spend the rest of his youth putrefying behind bars. Sadly, it was commonplace for Martino and Kelsey to squabble. “Because they’ve always been arguing for some reason, always getting into it because my baby was a legend,” Kelsey’s mom, Calvenita Brock, told reporters.
She was trying to do her thing. This was one that she was always supporting, taking care of, helping. This was a dude she was doing all this stuff for. For you to kill my baby and she did all this… You didn’t have nothing, not a dime… and this is what you did?”
Not only did Kelsey help Martino, she succored strangers too. “She’ll take her shoes off her feet and give it to a person. I’ve seen her do it plenty of times,” Calvenita recalled. “Every time we ride past the homeless, she always gives everybody a dollar… She was just one of those type of persons that always looked out for everybody.” Trey Brock, Kelsey’s stepdad, echoed a homogeneous sentiment.
“She was a shining light,” he said.
“She was always in a good mood. She would give you the shirt off her back. She always did things for the homeless. Anybody who needed help as far as transitioning or anything, she was always willing to talk. She was open about her situation.”
Kelsey was a big fan of St. Louis native Sexyy Red.
He even quoted her Pound Town lyrics.
“I’m out of town, thuggin’ with my rounds,” Kelsey rapped in a social media video.
“My coochie pink, my booty-hole brown.”
