This movie did not need a sequel!
3 glaring issues for me…
1. Too many pointless cameos, that become distracting.
2. Too many drawn out jokes that feel played out after the 5th time.
3. Too much unnecessary CGI for a GOLF movie.
This was literally one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. The fact that this has a 70+ audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is insane 🤯
I was bored in the first few minutes. The original was one of my favorite movies. This was just a cash grab. No effort.
Adam Sandler Comedies today suffer from the fact when he was younger his antics were funny. Older Adam Sandler doing these antics is like a old guy hanging with teenagers at a party.
Filmmakers are trying to use nostalgia to save Hollywood and it aint working. Coming 2 America, Beverly Hills Cop 4 and Happy Gilmore 2 are sequels made 30+ years later. It’s a failed strategy. Where’s the next generation of acting talent?
Some movies don’t need sequel’s they just need to be left alone
Happy Gilmore 1: story driven , quality characters n writing
Happy Gilmore 2: like a family guy episode.
First movie was legendary- the sequel was a jack ass of a movie (extreme disappointment).
I no longer have faith in society. It is depressing reading reviews for this failed attempt at filmmaking. The only thing they achieved was it was lighted properly and words synced up to the actors mouth. If I had courage to watch again I would probably see they messed it up too
Should change the title to “Happy Gilmore Poo💩”
It’s Netflix what did y’all expect
I’m always 💯 down for a sequel to an all time great movies even if it’s bad and doesn’t come close to the classic. But when you make a sequel that is so bad that it actually hurts the classic film it becomes frustrating and annoying. Adam Sandler who I love so much is nothing but a burned out comedian who has sold out to Netflix to add more greed while shitting on his fans and his great films
I guess his wife was really bad at finances. Happy Gilmore won a ton of cash after his first win in the first movie when he got his grandmas house back, and multiple tournaments after according to the second movie… but the humble little grandmas house just never got paid off. I guess there were no savings to pay taxes if it were paid off. The whole plot balanced on her handling the finances of a multi million dollar golfer. It just doesn’t make sense. I realize it’s a goofy movie but it’s a little too goofy and lazy.
Saving his Gramma’s house was a compelling reason.
Ballet lessons for a snarky, UNLIKABLE daughter??
Oh, Adam….
I enjoyed it. Not sure why people are expecting anything else out of his comedies.
The time to make a sequel is within a few years of the original, not 30 years! When will Hollywood learn that no one is asking for these?
Still paying Adam Sandler millions of dollars to make rubbish movies. Never underestimate the power of the tribe.
People ask why I get so upset at these sequels. “It’s just a movie” ITS MY CHILDHOOD!!!!! They literate taking each character from my childhood and ruining and destroying and pissing on them. Now I’ll never watch the first again the same way cause now I know his fucking wife dies.
No Bob Barker means no sequel.
I just watched it. And wow, it was terrible
I think I hate adam sandler and netflix after this
It was terrible. Every sequel he did was bad. Murder Mystery, Grown Ups 2, this. The problem is that these movies still generate millions of dollars for some reason. The new Naked Gun is good and keeps to the format but it’s meant to be stupid but done intentionally.
If they do a sequel to Billy Madison, we need to riot. This movie was a travesty. I don’t think I laughed a single time.
Movie was ass.
This movie was pure dogshit. 💩💩💩
I thought this movie was complete crap.
I didn’t like this movie at all. Too many cameos, pointless writing, killed off a beloved character at the beginning of the movie, humor was childish, and the worst of all, it bummed me out.
I’m probably over analyzing what’s supposed to be a simple comedy. But the first movie is a childhood staple of mine. A lot of small pieces of this movie didn’t work for me. Like Chubb’s son, I think he should have been a bigger part of the movie but he felt tacked on. The real world golfers was pushing it a bit too. The biggest issue i have is the antagonist. They belittle him right away, he’s a joke. He was never threatening, and his company didn’t feel very imposing. They sort of just explain away why it’s bad and now everyone has to fight his golfers? It was very weak.
I think the real antagonist was Happy’s depression and alcoholism. Those parts of the movie worked out well. The getting older jokes were actually funny too. The movie itself is good for a few laughs at least.
I was 30 minutes in and didn’t want to continue😂😂
This was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Went in with zero expectations and was somehow still disappointed. Anyone pretending like they enjoyed it is blinded by nostalgia
This film was PAAAAAAAIIIINFUUULLLL! Billy Madison and HG 1 were great, but this was absolute garbage! All of the nepotism and “celebrity” cameos were NAUSEATING! Especially with the podcast hosts/influencers cameos, with that, I came close to shutting it off…. and looking back, I should have!!! 👎👎
