DETROIT — “Did I do that?” Fellas, better start paying your child support because they’re locking mothaf*ckas up for reneging. Don’t believe me, ask Darius McCrary who was thrown in the slammer for refusing to pay $75,000 to his baby mama for their 18-year-old son. The 49-year-old actor, who played Eddie Winslow on the 90s sitcom “Family Matters,” was busted on October 5, 2025, at the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego during a flee attempt. Darius, charged as a fugitive, was denied bail at his first court appearance on October 15th when the judge deemed him a flight risk. He has since been extradited to Oakland County Jail in Michigan, where he had an active warrant for failure to appear in court. Darius said he had COVID-19, that’s why he didn’t show up. But scuttlebutt has it he expended stacks of mazuma 💰 on his transgender girlfriend, Sidney Starr.
He even paid for the sex operation.

Sadly, this ain’t the first time Darius was locked up for non-payment.
If you recall, he served time in 2015 and 2023.
Social media reaction, surprisingly, was in favor of Darius. One commenter wrote, “FATHERS STOP SIGNING THESE F*CKING BIRTH CERTIFICATES!!!” Another chimed in with, “This country has gone completely downhill. A kind man jailed over a debt that he shouldn’t have to pay (because it takes two to tango). But he paid millions in taxes to subsidize freeloaders and their EBT cards. Smh.”
A third person added, “When was the last time you heard of a female getting locked up for non-payment of child support???
Exactly… this system is sexist as a mothaf*cka. If you are a man, DO NOT reproduce. If you choose to have children, bank your sperm, pay a surrogate, then get a vasectomy. Stay out of this system, PERIOD! It will chew you up and spit you out.”

My thing is that woman didn’t make the baby by herself..he knew that this was gonna bite him in the butt..he should have been trying to work things out with baby mama and came to some agreement , instead he chose to ignore the child and his responsibility to the child. This is corny…for child support? Half these custodial parents are abusing the system and just start these cases to be a nuisance. It’s a lose lose situation when child support was created to set us back and you already lost before the case has even started. The amount they choose to either garnish or have you pay isn’t even modest it’s ridiculous! A child needs 30K a year FOH my parents raise 4 on 50K. Make it make sense.
