NASHVILLE — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Law enforcement officials in the Music City are under fire 🔥 after 24-year-old Michaela Jhane Carter was shot dead by her felon estranged husband, James Leggett, just a few minutes after police officers left her house. The uxoricide transpired around 11 p.m. on November 15, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee. Michaela — a victim of domestic violence — told James she was sick and tired of being his punching bag so she’s ending the marriage. Then she kicked him out the house, had him jailed, then filed a restraining order. Ten days after getting out, James stalked Michaela and sent her a series of death threats via text messaging and social media. On the day of the shooting, Michaela and her mother — Kimberly Jones-Mbuyi — called 911 to report James was seen with a gun outside a relative’s apartment. He was talking crazy, saying sh*t like, “I’ma kill that bitch!” Officers responded and took Michaela’s complaint.

But they didn’t have sufficient evidence to effectuate an arrest.

Roughly 10 minutes after the cops left, that n*gga James showed up with a pistol — prompting Michaela to call 911 again. “We’ve been going through this all day. We’ve been talking to police,” she told the dispatcher. “The police just left from checking my house. When they pulled off, he walks up and he’s coming to the door now. He has a gun. Help me, Lord. Help me, Lord. Help me, Lord.”

James, 27, kicked in the door and emptied the clip.

Michaela’s family sued the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and was offered a settlement of $250,000.

James died at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution on July 4, 2024.

His cause of quietus wasn’t released.

But scuttlebutt has it somebody shanked his ass.

Kimberly sort of danced on his grave.

“James can no longer hurt anyone else ever!,” she said.

“I could never wish death upon anyone, even him and that’s why we didn’t agree to go for the death penalty when we met with [District Attorney] Glenn Funk. The pain of burying a child is horrible and I’d never wish that upon any parent. My baby is resting and my husband is healing well physically. It’s time to heal and I’m ready for this to be over.”

Prior to killing Michaela, James gave her a savage beating with a whiskey bottle 🍾 that resulted in two black eyes and a busted lip.

Then he went online and disseminated the following message:

Somebody with nothing to lose won’t give a f*ck when sh*t gets real. Don’t ask me why.”

Did the justice system fail Michaela?

Is it time for women to shun Pookie & Ray Ray?

  4. They knew he was out there lurking. Nobody thought to arm and protect themselves. I’m a domestic abuse survivor so I know first hand. Police only gonna do so much. It’s up to you to protect your life. That means keep your gun on you at all times stay ready.

  6. This 911 agent is rubbish, they get so desensitized by all the 911 calls that they don’t care. There’s absolutely no urgency or sympathy in their voices when they respond to these calls. The mother is blaming the legal system for letting him out, maybe these women should stop dating felons!

  34. these officers dont take this type of things serious. My ex crazy like him, scratched his own body and when i called for help from being pushed I was the one put in handcuffs due to the made up scratches. do better law enforcement
