CHICAGO — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Brandon Jones was thrown in the slammer after he deleted his estranged wife, 41-year-old Carolyn Jones, because she dumped his ass. The uxoricide transpired around 5 a.m. on November 26, 2025 (the day before Thanksgiving🦃) in Chicago, Illinois. Carolyn told Brandon she was sick and tired of him cheating so she’s ending the marriage. Then she kicked him out of her apartment and found a new man. Rather than find another piece of ass, Brandon broke into the home and choked Carolyn until she was asphyxiated. Then he tried to conceal the crime. Surveillance footage shows Brandon ingress and egress the apartment multiple times. Carolyn’s son came home from work around 5:45 a.m. He smelled natural gas and found a lit candle 🕯 as if somebody was trying to set the apartment on fire.
Brandon came back inside and lied, telling the son he found Carolyn unresponsive in her bedroom. Then they carried her body to the car and drove her to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Coroners conducted an autopsy and ruled Carolyn’s death a homicide by strangulation. Brandon — who absconded to Memphis, Tennessee — was arrested and charged with murder. He told investigators he left Chicago after receiving death threats from Carolyn’s family.
Brandon posted the following message on Facebook:
ANYONE THAT KNOWS ME KNOWS I WOULDN’T THINK OF HARMING HER.”
Renee McDonald, Carolyn’s sister, told reporters she’s gonna miss her sibling.
“She had a heart of gold,” Renee said.
“She was kind, would give the shirt off her back. … She didn’t deserve that.”
Carolyn’s son went off on Brandon.
“This nigga robbed me,” he said.
“Robbed me of my future with my ma. Robbed me of my accomplishments… You can’t run from this sh*t, foe! You think you can do this to a sweet woman and live life like it’s cool? Hell naw!”
Carolyn, a mother of two boys, worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
Brandon is an employed, freeloading sumbitch with no goals or ambitions.
