The act of domestic terrorism transpired around 9 p.m. on April 25, 2026 at the Washington Hilton, where the black tie soirée was held. During an appearance on “Meet the Press,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said “the suspect traveled by train from Los Angeles to Chicago, and then Chicago to Washington, D.C., where he checked into the hotel where the correspondents’ dinner was at in the last day or two.” Prior to the attack, Cole sent a note to family and friends apologizing for the sh*t he was about to do. “I don’t expect forgiveness,” he wrote. “I experience rage thinking about everything this administration has done… Again, my sincere apologies.”
Cole is reportedly pissed at Trump for starting the war with Iran.
