KANSAS CITY — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Rasheed Turner was thrown in the slammer after he Ctrl-Alt-Deleted his ex-girlfriend, Layla Freeman, because she dumped his ass. The femicide transpired on May 13, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri. According to reports, Layla — a victim of domestic violence — told Rasheed she was sick and tired of being his punching bag so she’s ending the relationship. Then she filed a restraining order. On May 11, 2025, Layla posted the following message on social media: “Let him go back to what he knows. Some men can’t handle a woman of substance. Your peace feels foreign, your standards seem demanding. Where you bring maturity, he creates chaos. Where you offer love, he sees leverage. Don’t shrink to fit his limitation.” Two days later, as Layla was preparing to celebrate her 21st birthday🎈, Rasheed sent her a text telling her how much he missed her. Then he lured her to a neutral location with the promise of a “gift.”
But it was a trap.
As soon as Layla arrived, a bout of contretemps ensued. Rasheed yelled something to the effect of, “Bitch! If I can’t have you, no one can!” Then, as the quarrel intensified, Rasheed pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Layla multiple times. Witnesses heard her scream and called police. As Layla begged for her life, Rasheed emptied the clip then fled in his late mother’s blue Mustang. When officers 👮♂️ arrived, they found Layla’s corpse sprawled out in the middle of the street — riddled with bullets.
Rasheed was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Social media reaction was venomous.
One commenter wrote, “These men are demons. Leave them the f*ck alone.”
Another person added, “I don’t feel sorry for these women anymore. They will cut off family and friends, turn down good men, but give Pookie a million chances.”
Layla exemplified a jack of all trades♠.
The God-fearing Christian was a college student, a hairstylist, a certified nursing assistant, a tax examiner and she was active in church.
Scuttlebutt has it Rasheed fell into a deep depression after his mother died.
He’s been a headcase ever since.

As black women,we really gotta lead and guide our daughters better..i know we cant control everything they do,but why do we keep ending up in these situation? She was deep in religion,kind and STILL ended up like this? HOW?! WHY did she feel the need to deal with him,even after a protective order?
