‘Scary Movie👻’ a disaster

Wayans return.

CALI — “I see dead people.” They’re back!!! The Wayans Bros, Anna Faris and Regina Hall had an on-set chinwag with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier about the “Scary Movie👻” reunion more than 20 years after the original was released. “It’s dope. It’s like a high school reunion,” Marlon Wayans, 53, told Kevin. “But everybody look the same. Everybody look good. Ain’t nobody cracked out.” ET showed the racist scene featuring Regina’s black character (Brenda) and Anna’s white persona (Cindy) contemplating whether or not they should physically greet each other. You can tell they haven’t connected in years. “Cindy, should we hug?” Regina, 55, asked. “I really want to but I’m a Republican now. So I’m supposed to be racist,” Anna, 49, cracked. “Oh, girl. I think all white people are racist anyway. Come here,” Regina retorted before giving her buddy a warm embrace. Anna told Kevin she landed the role during her first ever Hollywood audition. Babygirl was so ecstatic, she damn near passed out.

“It was my first audition in L.A.,” Anna recounted. “It felt like somebody blindfolded me and like shoved me off of a cliff… This whole experience has been really emotional for me. Not to be serious, but I am just so grateful that we’re living this 20-year reunion… I’ve had the time of my life making this movie… It reminds me of beginning my journey in L.A. and how naïve I was and how I didn’t have any idea that I’d be doing comedy. I didn’t think I would be doing any work of this kind. But I’m just grateful [for] getting to act with Regina.”

Marlon said it was all hands on deck during filming, and that included twelve members of the Wayans family — both young and old.

That’s not a misprint.

A cool dozen.

“I got Damon’s son here,” Marlon said.

“Shawn is here. I’m here. My son is here…”

Marlon also introduced his nephew Greg Wayans who plays a horny teenager.

“Don’t he look a lot like Keenen? Especially with the new mouth,” he joked.

Eddie Murphy’s “Coming 2 America” and Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore 2” were released more than 20 years since they premiered and both sucked.

Hate to say it, but the 6th installment of the “Scary Movie” franchise is equally atrocious.

Rotten Tomatoes gave it a lowly score of 29 percent on the Tomatometer.

Double Toasted hated it.

Ditto for yours truly.

Mainly because the parodies aren’t funny, Ghostface is outdated, and nostalgia/celebrity cameos ain’t strong enough to carry a bunch of bad jokes about Shawn being gay🌈. The punchlines, to be candid, are straight ass.

The malodor 💩 reeks through the movie screen.

Towards the film’s cessation, Cameron Scott Roberts (who plays Jack) said Hollywood is running out of ideas which explains why producers are leaning on washed-up thespians in their 50s and 60s to star as protagonists.

Where’s the influx of young, upcoming talent?

  1. Shorty is funny as a side character. Making him a main character doesn’t work

  2. ” I’m not gay no more” went viral like 20 years ago. It’s so old. 😂🎉

  3. Easily the worst movie in the franchise, I’m beyond shocked by how bad it was. I laughed about 3 times for a few seconds throughout the whole movie.

  4. I’m glad the Wayans got to come back, but my favorite two films by the them, specifically Keenan, will forever be I’m Gonna Git You Sucka and Don’t Be A Menace!!

  5. They were funnier when they were kids having fun. Now its a bunch of 50 years old trying to be teenagers again

  6. It was so damn bad. Everyone in my theater was in a constant state of cringe.

  7. This was the most unfunny film I have seen in a long time. The acting was old and tired, the jokes were poor and I just found myself wishing it would end. I give it 2 out of 10 and that is being generous.

  8. Cindy’s daughter her line at the start of the movie was ass…and it sounded like she was trying to damn hard SMH, her boyfriend had on the ghost face outfit, and she hit him and said I ain’t the one then spit SMH that shit didn’t come off right and felt forced (there is a lot of bad acting in this movie) Ray doing the running in get out was funny… some people might like or love this movie, but I don’t, and I’ll stick with Scary Movie 1&2

  9. This shit was lame I already knew it was gonna be 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

  10. Scary Movie 1: Legendary
Scary Movie 2: Not as good but still funny
Scary Movie 3: A few hee’s and ha’s but mostly a waste of time.
    Scary Movie 4: Trash
All others: I have refused to watch because I know they will be worse than number four

  11. I like Scary Movie 1 and 2, so I wanted this movie to be good so badly. It SUCKED!!!

  12. It had a couple funny moments but over all it was a major let down of a movie.

  13. Honestly, the worst Scary Movie i’ve ever seen. It was a crappy nostalgia trip, zero plot and just completely unfunny from start to finish.

  14. Bro, this movie was so bad I pretended to have an important phone call. I said “sorry I have to take this.” As I grabbed my popcorn and drink, threw them away and walked to my car. I didn’t even look back.

That was the first time I walked out of a movie.
