NORTH CHARLESTON — “🎵Fight the power! We’ve got to fight the powers that be!🎵” Giovanni Mekhi Sincere Campbell, 19, and Sa’Mya Adriana Collette Weaver, 18, spent Independence Day 🧨 without freedom after they beat the sh*t out of a white female police officer. The Teen Takeover transpired on July 4, 2026 during a block party in North Charleston, South Carolina. It was also captured on video. Cell phone footage shows Giovanni, Sa’Mya and a horde of recalcitrant teens giving the cop the Rodney King treatment. First, she got knocked upside the head. Then, she got punched in the countenance and ragdolled. Fellow officers showed up with tasers to help restore order. Giovanni, Sa’Mya and at least 4 others were arrested and taken into custody. Witnesses said Giovanni let his gat explode. He’s charged with possession of a machine gun, and Sa’Mya is charged with breach of peace, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer. “Attacks on law enforcement are unacceptable,” the North Charleston Police Department said in statement. “Those responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Officers were called to the party amid reports of Giovanni bustin’ caps. Fights broke out as soon as they arrived. More than 400 teens were in attendance. Chief Ron Camacho said two female officers were assaulted. Fortunately, both are okay. “The two female officers that were injured are fine. They’re working,” he reported. “The young officer that’s in the video — she’s back working today.”

North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess said don’t let the video give you a negative perception of his city.

It’s his assertion North Charleston ain’t ghetto.

“We’re not going to let this incident define the city of North Charleston,” Burgess said.

We’re not going to let a few define this community.”

Reverend Nelson B. Rivers of Charity Missionary Baptist Church said he wants to descry the entire video to see if law enforcement did something to instigate the melee.

“We don’t know what went down. We don’t know what happened before the cameras turned on,” Rivers said.

“What made the young people escalate? What happened?”

Elder James Johnson, CEO of the National Racial Justice Network, echoed a homogeneous sentiment.

“I think it’s more to the video than what’s out there. We want to see all the video,” he said.

“I don’t condone violence against policemen. But police violence against citizens is wrong also.”

In addition to Giovanni’s automatic firearm, officers found 4 handguns and a makeshift spear at the scene.

Damn.

As far as I’m concerned, if you going to physically attack a police officer (and I don’t care what color your skin is) then you are opening up the opportunity for those cops to pull their weapons out and shoot you. I’m sorry, but this nonsense has to come to a stop. people need to STOP using RACE to defend thug like behavior.

  5. Proof that cops do NOT shoot black people every time they get the opportunity. Every one of these kids/ adults deserved way more than they got. And if their parents don’t intervene, and the young adults themselves do not change course? They’re gonna end up with their lives over before they reach 25

  8. Can we get some cops who lift weights and kick ass? It’s embarrassing to watch a bunch of kids, primarily girls, kicking the cops asses. Does not instill confidence in the public being safe. Geez. 😮

Honestly these kids should be taken away from their parents and felons who want to live the thug hooligans trash culture should not be allowed to have kids and if a felon tries to have a kid need to be proven to a jury that they are fit to raise a kid and won’t be indoctrinating them into a life of crime don’t care if it’s harsh the sooner we remove theses kids from these shitty household with parents who do a worse job at raising children than Darth Vader did the better off our country will be
