Here’s my Initial Rating: Heart, hope, and virtue were brilliantly captured. The humor wasn’t overkill, respect for the lore and comics were evident. Hoult knocked it out the park yet again with his performance. Etc.
This is my favorite movie of 2025 nothing will top it.
I do like how the Justice Gang were assholes without going to far with it. Not quite antiheroes.
Solid 7.5/10. The only thing I couldnât stand was his relationship with Lois. I wish they approached their relationship differently, if it had to be there at all.
Overall, I really liked it despite a few moments where it threatened to go off the rails or just pull me out. The three leads hold it all together; Corenswet and Hoult are particularly great and you immediately get a feel for their motivations, insecurities and rivalry etc. The character moments in this are more important than the action.
This will not be for everyone. They go all out with the quirkiness, humour and outlandishness – sometimes it’s too much, but for the most part keeps it interesting. Also, I was surprised by the third act going all ‘Man of Steel’… luckily I was on board with the cast and the tone so it didn’t completely lose my interest. Overall, I came out feeling positive, entertained and looking forward to the next one.
Dope movie. Not the best Gunn movie but that’s actually a good sign. The best is yet to come. Nick was the best Lex (That dude is pure evil, selfish and narcissistic), Mr. Terrific is now one of my favorite characters. The Star of the movie besides Kal El. I really like David’s Superman/Clark but Mr. T stole every scene he was in.
Guy was funny. Hawkgirl was a badass (her scene really showed she’s about that life but needed more screentime and Krypto is a damn menace lol
Mr Terrific was surprisingly the one part done perfectly.
About time they made an intelligent tech guy not a awkward nerd.

It was a bad movie. I wanted it to be good so bad but it wasnât. And itâs nobodyâs fault but the Writer, Director and editor. Itâs one of those movies that is both an hour too long and yet 45 minutes too short.
At the end of the day I hope they go forward with the DCU but thereâs a lot of room for improvement
I really liked it. I think the tone was a bit off at points but it was a very enjoyable movie. Also I wouldn’t say I’m a major DC fan. Like I watched some of the shows as a kid so I’m familiar with green lantern and hawkgirl/hawk woman(?), and Lex Luther. But I didn’t know some others but that’s also how I was during the beginning MCU movies. I don’t think starting not at the beginning is fine. We all know who superman is.
I loved it. It was 1000 times better than Thor Love and Thunder.
This Superman can’t even bring himself to say “Hell” when frustrated. I loved it.

In a time where we need better representation of traditional masculinity on film, we get James Gunnâs Superguy. Best scene in the film was him rising from the rubble of the building when he saved that woman but he felt like someone in his early twenties rather than a 30 year old man regardless of when he started his career. No gravitas or commanding presence for majority of the film.
Shout out to James Gunn for bringing back overtly sexy female characters in cinema. This movie had some baddies in it.
Some will hate it but many will appreciate this superman. He’s just a chill guy. I really liked it. And we finally got a true lex on the big screen. A true hater.

James Gunn didnât make a Superman movie. He made another Guardians Of The Galaxy with DC comics characters. Hawkgirl was Gamora. Green Lantern kept saying the wrong thing like Drax. Mr Terrific had an attitude like Rocket. Krypto was young Groot. And Superman was just Star Lord.

After watching the film i find it hilarious that james gun said we’ll see superman grow more powerful as the films go on, but this version is shown to do things that shit over cavill and tyler hoechlins strength đ
I find it ironic that most people used to say Superman is boring since he’s so overpowered. Then when you give him a movie where he has his back against the wall and is in danger, suddenly people want him overpowered again
I’m pretty sure I will never watch this film again. Normally if a film is ok or good, I’d watch it again at some point. I think the cast was good (but wasted). As a Superman fan, what a disappointment this film was. 3/10. Bordering on shit. No it was shit.
People act like Superman never lost a fight until this movie came out.
Gunn’s Superman is the worst Superman film to date, imo.
This movie was corny IMHO. Christopher Reeves is still the best…followed by Henry Cavill
