CHARLOTTE — “🎵Catch me I’m falling. Catch me now I’m falling.🎵” Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton is more than a football player. He’s a lifesaver too. Tershawn saved a young fan from disaster on Sunday after KC beat the sadsack Carolina Panthers 30-27. As players sauntered to the locker room to shower, a little boy donning a Nick Bolton jersey reached out over the rail to greet Tershawn. As Tershawn was removing his gloves to proffer as a souvenir, the kid fell head first over the rail before Tershawn caught him in midair. The entire ordeal was captured on video. The boy would’ve probably cracked his 💀 skull and suffered a serious injury had Super Tershawn not saved the day. “It was a natural reaction,” Tershawn said during an appearance on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show. “Usually when I leave a game, I try to throw my gloves in the crowd, and I think I heard my name… and when I heard my name, I seen him coming down. I just had to kind of like push him into the stands a little bit to make sure he didn’t hit too hard.”

What’s crazy is several Chiefs players walked by like nothin’ happened. They saw the kid fall and kept on movin.’ Social media reaction was wild. One commenter wrote, “If that was Kadarius Toney or Skyy Moore, ambulances would be out there.” Another chimed in with, “That’s Tershawn’s first career interception.” A third viewer added, “Maaaaaaan that sh*t was on purpose 😂😂😂.”

Tershawn has spoken to the kid since the encounter, and he offered him tickets to a Chiefs game.

“I would like to reach out to him, get him out to a game and be able to reflect with him a little bit more,” Tershawn said.

What’s my take?

It’s twofold:

1) Where the f*ck are the parents?

And,

2) The NFL is for grown folks and young adults. It’s a violent, bloody, gladiator sport not suitable for rugrats. Broken bones, ruptured Achilles and torn ligaments are the norm. Fans guzzle liquor, smoke marijuana, and cuss every 5 seconds. Sometimes they chant expletives at referees. Again, the league is completely inappropriate for children. Mom and dad, please, please, please leave your f*ckin’ kids at home. Get a babysitter. Jeez.

Tershawn manducates 12 eggs for breakfast.

Now we know why.

  1. Back to your seats, this kid just fell! Maybe you should have been a little more attentive and had the kid in his seat.

  2. You hear that. Racist security guards almost prevented him from saving the kid’s life. Pathetic…

  3. The guy screaming to get back in their seats, was literally the one who pushed thay kid over 😂😂😂😂

  4. @Lord_OTD: Don’t blame the parents for their kid wanting to get a closer look at the players. This isn’t bad parenting, this is parents allowing their children to be excited when they have a chance to high five a pro athlete. Accidents happen and sometimes no one is at fault.

  5. The kid was pushed by the guy that yelled “back to your seats”. He ain’t slick

  6. Good thing it wasn’t Kadarius Toney walking by… That kid would’ve been in trouble!

  7. Parents should be charged for child indangerment also child services should look at this.

  8. Thank you Tershawn! Sharp mind fast reaction saves the day.this could have went 100 kinds of bad if it wasn’t for you!

  9. Pretty surprising to read all of the “bad parenting” comments. Parents probably spent $1,000 minimum for the day, not to mention the $100 or so for their child’s jersey. Kid got excited to meet a hero and receive a gift. Shocking. Accidents can happen and that’s all this was. No need to condemn parents who worked hard (probably) to give their kid a great day $.

  10. “This kid just fell”

The fuck did you think was gonna happen When you let him hang off when there was no railing 💀

  11. Quick thinking on Tershawn’s part. Nice guy, too. What a brat kid. He was warned. No respect for adults, rules, authority. Just do what you want, get your way. His parents need to do better.

  12. I see a lawsuit settlement coming from the kids family because thats how the world works unfortunately. The family going to sue the stadium and get lifetime front row season tickets in the settlement.

  13. So the kid gets free tickets to a Chiefs game for being pushy and not listening?
