BEIJING — First, they made Kung Fu robots that are capable of kicking some ass. Now this. China believes its the most dominant force in advanced technologies and who are we to disagree. After all, during the Beijing E-Town Half-Marathon on April 19, 2026, a red android named “Lighting” beat human runners to the finish line 🏁 in 50 minutes and 26 seconds to establish a new world record. Yep, robots are officially faster than us. Lightning was created by smartphone maker “Honor.” He had a robotics crew trailing him. But he moved autonomously, using his own sensors, algorithms and artificial intelligence to navigate the course and maintain pace. He was a total badass. Fans loved it. “I was shocked,” said a spectator. “I never expected those robots could run and walk like humans.” If you recall, during last year’s race, several humanoids stumbled and overheated.
But that’s no longer the case.
China now sees these robots as part of its future workforce in factories, law enforcement, hospitality and even in homes as assistants and spouses who’ll give hand jobs. The marathon was no doubt a test to see how humanoids would operate in the real world. Looks like they passed. Not everyone was impressed. “It’s just a stupid publicity stunt,” said Australian roboticist Rodney Brooks, an emeritus professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), who co-founded iRobot — the company behind Roomba.
It’s like when they used to have horses racing cars. It doesn’t matter.”
Social media reaction was hilarious.
One commenter wrote, “How soon can these robots start patrolling the hood?😂😂😂”
Another chimed in with, “Anything can outrun humans. I’ll be impressed when robots outrun cheetahs and horses.”
A third person added, “One splash of water and it’s over.”
More than 100 robots competed in the 21-kilometer race against 12,000 people with three androids finishing ahead of humans.
Lightning was given a gold medal🥇.

This is all bullshit. The robot is remote controlled, you can see the guys in the cart. Also the robot ran into a wall and fell over and had to be picked up and then the guy with the remote controller ran with the robot.
