My ex split dates, movies, drinks etc all the time from date 1 when we were dating.. then when we moved in together she refused to help with rent, utilities, cable etc. it was her and her 2 adult kids. Her daughter was finishing high school. They each had their own room. I was waiting to see what she did with college and her son who was 21 when we broke up. He was a mess. Mad arguments. She wanted to get married and I wanted to talk about her daughters college plans, her sons mental health and household bills before moving forward. She continued to split checks when we went out and picked up dinners.. but wtf!? She had agreed to pay 1/3 the rent and 1/2 groceries, and I’d pay everything else.. then flat out refused? There was no reason.. just, no calling me selfish, greedy, controlling.. etc.. yeah.. she sent her daughter to a school with a $50k tuition on a scholarship and was forced to drop out after 2 years, and her son ended up in prison for 6 years. Thank God I got out before that crap went down. Moral.. just because they split on dates etc.. doesn’t mean that they don’t have a bigger plan. The next dude got that mess and I’m 4 years single. Just don’t have it in me to deal with it. Kinda miss her.. but damn
