KANSAS CITY — There’s no place like home. Heidi Gardner of “Saturday Night Live” gave Architectural Digest a tour of her 70s-style home in Kansas City. And, dude, the place f*cking rocks! Heidi, 41, shares the crib with her three cats: Tweaky, Cubby Bear and John Ross Jr. Built by Don Drummond — and with the help of Tara Davis of Cicada Company and Brooklyn-based interior designer Madelynn Hudson — the disco-era residence contains vaulted ceilings, wood-paneled walls, and a double-sided natural-stone fireplace. The abode’s interior is reminiscent of the San Fernando Valley dwelling of Jack Horner (Burt Reynolds) in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1997 showbiz drama “Boogie Nights” — Heidi’s favorite movie. “My dream was to make the house a sexy-chic time capsule,” said the Kansas City native. “At night, it really is like Studio 54 in here. I call the house a dream theater.” Heidi’s primary closet was inspired by her stay-at-home mom — Patricia Gardner — who had “the most fun closet ever.” We’re talkin’ shaker cabinets inset with mauve pink grass cloth coupled with a spacious marble vanity.

The nostalgic conglomeration also features Gary Gutterman’s 1980 Plexa chair sourced from Betsu Studio, a faux zebra rug from CB2, and a bullion trimmed ottoman from Lulu and Georgia. “This whole closet was to honor my mom, who had the most fun closet ever when I was growing up. Instead of doing Tupperware parties, her and her friends would do lingerie parties,” Heidi recalled.

“I’ve found myself just throwing clothes on the floor because it almost looks more feminine — like a woman just ran in and kicked off her shoes. I love having this space to indulge a bit more.”

Social media reaction was a big thumb’s up 👍.

One commenter wrote, “She did that house amazing justice! KC is so proud of her too.”

Another chimed in with, “It’s a mid-century modern masterpiece! Absolutely stunning!”

A third viewer added, “I can’t tell if Saturday Night Live pays well or if she was born rich. Lol.”

Heidi was a hairdresser for 9 years prior to joining SNL.

She’s also the world’s biggest fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Watch Heidi give one helluva tour.

  1. Dayum, SNL cast get paid a helluva lot more than I was led to believe.

  2. Even though it’s not my style it’s something to admire. Such a vibe

  3. I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s, and this hearkens back like a beautiful dream—however it doesn’t take me completely back to where I’m smelling stale cigarettes. Love it!!

  4. But…but…but…she’s wearing shoes inside the house? 🤯

I’m American and I don’t wear shoes inside, who does that? Shoes stay at the door, don’t be tracking outside filth indoors.

  5. I wonder what part of Kansas City this is? The house was originally designed by Don Drummond, who did a lot of houses in the Prairie Village area (where I grew up). This could be PV – or maybe Mission Hills?

  6. Not my personal taste, but I love this space for her. The one thing I absolutely do love is that custom bar. I would give anything for that bar.

  7. WOW 🤩 Heidi is a Stylist (hair!)
Expect high end fashion and super VIP style…Nothing less‼️

  8. This house was cool, and I’m glad she made it her own while keeping it’s roots, but she lost me when she said she was a Chiefs fan.

  9. I love her house it’s very 70’s modern. Couldn’t live in it though because it gives 70’s serial killer vibes (that’s what I associate with that style of houses🤷🏿‍♀️) I love love love her kitchen sink and primary bathroom mirror

  10. AMAZING! Who knew you could find something like this in KC?!?!? WOW. Love it!!

  11. I need to know where is she hiding the litterboxes in this gorgeous house

  12. When I saw her I legit thought it’s an SNL skit about Architectural Digest

  13. I love that Heidi loves her family so much and her hometown of Kansas City. She’s really promoting the artists and the creative businesses there.

  14. Heidi is so beautiful and talented, it’s not surprising that her house reflects that.

  15. I like her dad’s taste in music..I was surprised to see art-rock/prog instead of jazz, given this is Kansas City..
