ATLANTA — Here’s a flick perfect for Black History Month: When you get a chance, watch Tyler Perry’s Netflix comedy “Joe’s College Road Trip” starring, um… Tyler Perry. The synopsis is Dr. Seuss simple. Madea’s brother, Joe (an old school alpha), is tasked with taking his book smart, Gen Z grandson, BJ (played by Jermaine Harris), on a college road trip across the country. But Joe spends the entire trip slapping BJ upside the head and cussing him out for being a wuss. “Shut the f*ck up, nigga!” Joe yelled. “I’mma knock you in your mothaf*ckin’ teeth!” Then, to compound matters, Joe took BJ (who’s a virgin) to a brothel and remunerated a captive prostitute to ride his phallus and give him head. “You ever had a BJ?” Joe asked the Steve Urkel clone. Next thing you know… the hooker, Destiny (played by Amber Reign Smith), pulled down BJ’s trousers, tickled his balls and siphoned the jizz from that penis. Yep, nerdy BJ got a BJ and copulation magically ensued. I’m surprised Perry put that in the script.

After bustin’ his first nut, BJ falls in love with Destiny, calls her his “bitch,” and the rest is history. Look, the movie is raunchy as hell. But, you’ll chortle. In addition to whoredom, it’s satiated with random negro trivia. Joe also ends up in a bar fight after a redneck called him a “nigger” to which he retorted, “Oh, you got an attitude… I guess I got to give you motherf*ckers a black history lesson.”

As he dragged a white supremacist across the bar top, Joe said, “You know how many times Hank Aaron slid into home?”

Then he yelled, “Satchel Paige, bitch!” after hitting another in the testicles with a beer can.

“Joe’s College Road Trip” won’t win an Oscar.

But it’s entertaining throughout and, by Tyler Perry standards, that’ll suffice.

This is also the first movie he has made for men.

Perry’s other conceptions are chick flicks and romantic fairytales tailor-made for single women.

“Joe’s College Road Trip” is for niggas only and I truly appreciate it.

Perry went hardcore for the first time.

He had Joe say “mothaf*cka” 76 times, “pussy” 24 times, and “nigga” 74 times.

Perry also had Brian admit to learning about the “Birds and the Bees” at the age of 3 before gettin’ some pussy at 9 years old.

Then, towards the film’s cessation, Joe gave BJ some pimp advice on how to subjugate prostitutes.

“You gotta treat ’em like they hoes,” he said.

Telling you dawg… I always knew underneath Madea’s dress, Perry had some nigga in him and it’s finally coming out.

“HALLELUJER!!!”

I’m about to get emotional.

Never thought I’d see the day.

  3. I was enjoying the movie and then it went downhill to me. Some sex scenes went way too far. I wanted to watch it with my teens. Movies don’t leave anything to the imagination anymore. This is the era that we are in. Just sad.😢

  4. I am a big fan of the Madea series, how ever this was about taking a nice kid and turning him into angry black man and the glorification of black prostitution within a historical perspective.

  5. This was a great movie. The movie is made to be funny, it has a powerful message regarding teaching our youth their black history. I think it’s very important especially since the current government wants to erase black history.

  15. Tyler Perry keeping racism and victimism alive ! Oppressing the black community while keeping them laughing. At the beginning the young boy couldn’t have been more right. We are all equal and there is no need for all black colleges and should be honored by merit. I’m not saying forget about slavery but slavery has been gone for a long time in America and we need to move on and stop teaching the black community that they are victims or less valued as a person. We need to put Bibles back in our public schools. Also we need to teach the truth about the Democrat party before the civil rights movement, after and what they truly are today since their right to vote and LBJ’s statement about the next 200 years. He couldn’t have been more right.

  17. Tyler Perry made the movie as a representation of his own life….pay attention to each character!! The son is Tyler Perry and a representation of his own life and how he felt wishing someone would’ve saved him!! The only thing I wish he would change is making these black boys/men either gay or with extreme feminine traits. This world is crumbling before our eyes.

  20. I like the movie. I agreed with the movie. Modern blacks don’t know the history anymore. I have white washed family members who don’t know anything about our people. Of course it is over the top and Joe was annoying.

  24. Good movie, but some scenes was not necessary to move the plot along. I told my dad, I understood why Brian raised his kid totally different then how Joe and Madea raised him but I never let my children forget that we are black and proud to be black

I normally shy away from Tyler Perry movies because in my opinion it’s just buffoonery that’s usually pretty predictable but my cousin who feels the same way that I do convinced me to try this movie because it was different. I watched it, and now I feel dumber. Most of this film was not very realistic or even consistent and although there were some funny scenes, don’t preach to me about history and how things should be, than act like an embarrassment to the black race in the next scene.

  38. Tyler Perry need to stop putting his sexual preferences in his movies. How did you go from Christian based movies to perverted one about men getting oral from other men in bathrooms. This is not normal and he doesn’t need to make it seem as though it is. It’s ungodly and God is not pleased.

  39. Just watched it I LOVED IT, We needed a laugh so much in these crazy ass times. So thankful to Tyler Perry for continuing to make great films, YES this is a RAUNCHY MFing movie up in this peace BUT there are still lessons thrown in that only Tyler Perry can make us understand. This film is about growing up in one way not knowing the others struggle.

  45. This movie glorified human trafficking and hoes and it was insensitive to women and child abuse.

  46. The only main problem in this movie was that brothel scene. That crap was ridiculously unnecessary.
