MANHATTAN — First, Chris Klieman cried like a lil bitch in front of reporters. Now this. It’s pointless to say Kansas State men’s basketball 🏀 has hit rock-bottom because every time the Wildcats tip off, a lower depth ensues. A viral video shows K-State head coach Jerome Tang lambasting his team’s effort during a pathetic 91-62 home loss to the mediocre Cincinnati Bearcats. By every metric, Travis Kelce’s alma mater is terrible offensively. Cincy was also winless on the road. Yet, the Bearcats scorched the nets against a K-State defense that’s arguably the worst in the nation. There’s no sugarcoating the fact the team quit on Coach Tang and he’s had enough. “I’m gonna honor [Jesus] Christ like I always do. I’m blessed to do this. But this was embarrassing,” the 59-year-old skipper said during his postgame press conference. “These dudes do not deserve to wear this uniform. There will be very few of them in it next year. I’m embarrassed for the university. I’m embarrassed for our fans, our student section.”
“It is just ridiculous,” Coach Tang added.
“I have no answer and no words. Right now, I’m pissed.”
In their last three home games against Kansas, Iowa State and Cincinnati, the Wildcats got their asses kicked by an average of 30 points. Yikes!!! But they perform much better away from Manhattan, Kansas. When asked to elucidate, Coach Tang admitted he and his assistants contemplated treating tilts at Bramlage Coliseum like road games by having the players stay at a hotel.
But, at the end of the day, it comes down to whether or not guys want to compete.
“None of that crap matters,” Coach Tang vented.
These dudes got to have some pride. It means something to wear a K-State uniform. It means something to put on this purple… They don’t love this place so they don’t deserve to be here.”
A noiseless Bramlage appeared to be half desolate.
And many of the fans who showed up wore paper bags over their heads to express mortification.
“I’d wear a paper bag too if I were them,” Coach Tang said.
Social media reaction was venomous.
One commenter wrote, “Tang stinks, has a new team every year, doesn’t develop players, and is fake. When they win, he jumps in the stands and does the ‘Wabash’ with students. When they lose, he calls the team an embarassment. The list goes on. He’s a clown🤡.”
Another fan added, “I want to thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for this free money I receive from this great university for putting a crappy team on the court with zero consequences for piss-poor coaching.”
To add insult to ass-whoopins, the price tag for K-State’s roster is an exorbitant $10 million 💰 in NIL expenditures.
More expensive than KU.
More pricier than Iowa State.
Guards PJ Haggerty and Andrej Kostić are gettin’ paid more than $2 million apiece.
Yet, the Wildcats suck.

Schools like K-State, Iowa State, maybe Okie State, Pitt, NC State, many others are in trouble, eventually this spending race is going to have some schools hitting the bottom of the well just to keep up. Eventually the richest schools from the Big Ten and SEC are going to simply win the war by outspending the rest of us. Really sad.

Stop the Transfer Portal. That will solve the NIL issue. The system is broken. The SOLE purpose of any university is EDUCATION, not a semi pro league for the NBA. The majority of the players will not see the NBA.
Now he’s pissed. Where was this passion earlier in the season?

Try NIL offers based on performance; both individual and team. Each player on scholarship gets the same base NIL amount. Then the players get increases based on “positive” results.
It appears that Tang doesn’t know how to build a solid roster and his lack of personal accountability seems to trickle down to the team. That’s the professional knock on him. But worse than that, he’s a fool and an embarrassment to KSU and the conference.
This is what happens when you bring in a bunch of guys from the portal looking for a paycheck I can tell none of these guys for k state really care about anything except their stats. They probably can’t wait to transfer.
It’s K-State. Nobody cares, and nobody high-caliber is going to go there.
How things change. When Jerome was first hired, he was the best thing since sliced bread. Now, K-State is ready to run him out of town on a rail. Such is the life of a coach.

Tang tried to get fired so he can get his $18 million dollar buyout. It is just unfortunate that he is going scorched earth on the program on his way out the door. It will take years for KSU to recruit and rebuild the program. I hope Tang gets his wish and is fired. Good riddance!
This whole Jerome Tang coaching time here has been an embarrassment and disaster for Kstate, nice guy but not a head coach that can’t effectively run a Big 12 program in this era.

Was Gene Taylor also fired? How was he allowed to make such a terrible decision. I’ve come to loathe our basketball program. The anchor around the neck of our AD. Has always been and always will be an expensive vanity project. So much wasted money while football became average. It’s negative fan interest at this point.
He was trying to be fired with all the craziness toward the end.
Tang was too casual about the portal and nil, and he was a terrible recruiter, e.g., no leader on the floor. It must have been a nightmare every game for the players. It says alot that in the last two years practically all most every player left.

He’s the one who recruited these players! So ultimately he’s responsible for bringing in players “who don’t deserve to wear the uniform”
Tang got away from recruiting and decided to buy players. The more he lost, the more desperate he became to bring in players from the portal who had no connection to KState. He is no different than Prince in his final year getting 19 players from Juco.
Tang never could coach. And Taylor made a terrible decision to hire him. Both should go.
Tang purposely tanked for the money. Reports of having film sessions at his house and then no film. Just hanging out. An offense that he said just go out and shoot open shots. Hes a fraud who tanked for the buyout.
