INGLEWOOD — Damn, that was fast. It took all of 17 seconds for Ronda Rousey, 39, to defeat Gina Carano, 44, on Saturday inside the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California — and she did it via armbar. The nostalgic 145-pound featherweight bout headlined Jake Paul’s triple main event on Netflix. As soon as the bell rang, Ronda (13-2) tackled Gina (7-3) to the canvas, grabbed her arm and forced her to tap out with her signature submission. Hell, the fighter introductions lasted longer than the fight. It was the quickest match since Mike Tyson whooped Marvis Frazier’s ass in 30 seconds on July 26, 1986. It was also Ronda’s first victory since she suffered back-to-back knockout losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes in 2015 and 2016. Both women egressed the cage without a scratch. Ronda collected a purse of $2.2 million and Gina took home $1 mil, the easiest money 💰 they’ll ever make. “I was hoping to come out as unscathed as possible,” Ronda said of the expedited cessation.

I didn’t really want to hurt her. It was beautiful martial arts, that’s what I think that was. It was art.”

Art? Ok, if you say so. To compound matters, Gina’s surrender came on the heels of Nate Diaz gettin’ beat to a bloody pulp by Mike Perry. That fight was definitely worth the price of admission. Social media reaction was venomous. One commenter wrote, “Imagine paying $500 for seats and getting 17 seconds.” Another chimed in with, “Scripted Illuminati trash… Ronda Rousey, Gina Carano, and Jake Paul just scammed Netflix for millions.”

A third person added, “What a f*cking joke! So it’s officially the WWE now? With Jake Paul as the promoter? Gimme a break!”

Gina, widely regarded as the original pioneer of women’s MMA, hadn’t fought since 2009 and it showed.

She offered no resistance.

The crowd should’ve booed.

“I wanted that to last longer,” Gina said.

“I was so ready. I felt so good. I’ve never felt that good. I haven’t competed in 17 years. I wanted to hit her. But getting in here is a victory. Fighting a legend is a victory. I feel great. I just wanted to fight.”

Jake’s payout wasn’t disclosed.

But he’s planning to promote more fights in the near future.

He even issued a challenge to UFC president Dana White.

“You will definitely see more [MMA],” Jake vowed.

“We’re breaking records tonight. This was one of the most viewed MMA events in history… You’ll see more of us. Dana, be prepared, because this is the takeover.”

Watch the… um… fight, press conferences and more.

  1. That arm bar is all rousy has. Take that away and she got nothing, not impressed.

  2. Hell fucking yeah I’m so fucking happy and stoked for Rhonda. I guess cuz I missed her and I’ve always been her fan and always will stick by her. I’ll be watching this many more times.

  3. this is clearly fixed for Ronda to win because Ronda is anti-Trump & Gina is pro-Trump.

  4. “I get the feeling Netflix has rigged this puppet show right up the ass on this one, too”, according to the great Katt Man himself😎

  5. I Really Hoped Gina Would Win So Ronda Would Shut The Hell Up! She Is So High On Herself!

  6. In no world ever do we ever want WOKE Netflix to control MMA. This is one of the last sports not run by woke POS corporations & woke POS billionaires….we don’t need anything changing

  7. Nate Diaz has only showed up to fights to collect the cheque since 2020.. He hasn’t looked competitive against anyone. He needs to hang up the gloves

  8. I believe that fight was totally rigged. Ronda was meant to win because she’s more of a name than Gina is totally set up just like the Tyson Jake Paul fight totally fake and people fell for it and spent money to watch it.

  9. “It’s rigged” No Gina just sucks 😂 It would’ve gone the same way in UFC 10 years ago. Ronda should’ve never stopped using her ground game.

  10. Another fight NO ONE BUT THEIR FRIENDS WANTED TO SEE. AND EVEN THEN THEY REALLY DIDNT WANT TO SEE IT LOL. two has been fighters . One that sucks horribly and swears she is the goat. Rousey is the most pitiful little girl I’ve ever witnessed on camera. With her little ego slips and talk about how she’s the best in the world. Only fighter I ever seen come off horrible losses and claim she’s still the best…lol 😂 talk about making a fool out of yourself girl. Wow. Shes so proud she tapped a friggin actor who’s hasn’t fought in 20 yrs. Lol what an accomplishment…

  11. Celebrating a win over someone that hasn’t fought in SEVENTEEN years is surely the most Ronda Rousey thing ever.

  12. Staged. Undoubtedly a fight staged by the MVP and Netflix. One Million, for Carano. 2.2 Miliion, for Rousey. They just wanted the cash, and went home.

  13. Ronda can’t win for winning in these comments. I see someone who’s been through the best and the worst, faced public defeat after being a true champion. Showing poor sportsmanship and losing her fans to regaining the courage to put herself out there to the world again and this time it seems with a renewed passion and respect for both herself and her opponent. This was a great moment in life as well as sports for me. And I also believe many of these fights are scams, this felt real, just real short because she’s that good in her domain.
