UPPER MARLBORO — When selling nookie goes tragically wrong. Hugo Hernandez-Mendez, 35, was thrown in the slammer after he deleted 19-year-old Da’Cara Rose Thompson because he’s too cheap to pay for prostitution. The femicide transpired on August 23, 2025 in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Surveillance footage shows Da’Cara approaching Hugo’s black SUV around 3 a.m. After a brief solicitation, she got into the vehicle and Hugo took her to his place where he killed her during copulation. Then, he dumped her cadaver from the U.S. 50 bridge into the South River – a plummet of more than 30 feet. Da’Cara’s corpse was found eight days later in a grassy area off Route 50 in Anne Arundel County, nearly a week after family members reported her missing. Hugo was arrested and charged with murder. Turns out, he’s an illegal alien from Guatemala.
United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had already issued a detainer for his vagina-stealing ass.
“Hugo Hernandez-Mendez, an illegal alien from Guatemala, has been charged with first and second-degree murder in the gruesome death of 19-year-old Da’Cara Thompson,” the agency said in a statement. “ICE has issued a detainer for this criminal illegal alien and justice will be served for this Maryland family.” Governor Wes Moore also issued a statement, saying Da’Cara was “taken from us by an act of senseless violence.”
Social media reaction was venomous.

Another chimed in with, “She was out there selling her body to the highest bidder. Her mother failed her 😢.”
A third person added, “Trump did say other countries have emptied their prisons into the United States.”
Da’Cara was the youngest of five siblings.
She’s survived by her parents, brothers, sisters, grandmother, nieces and nephews.
Detectives are still looking into the case.
