COLUMBIA — The only certain things in life are death, taxes and Asian proprietors shooting black kids. Residents of Columbia, South Carolina are in an uproar after gas station ⛽ owner Rick Chow was acquitted on Monday in the 2023 murder of 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton. The negro teen was Ctrl-Alt-Deleted after being wrongly suspected of shoplifting 4 bottles of water. Rick, a 61-year-old Hong Kong native, and his son chased Cyrus the length of a football field before shooting him in the back. Cyrus allegedly dropped a gun and Rick told police the youngster pointed it at his son — sparking a reaction. To add insult to fatality, Rick believed Cyrus’ life was worth less than a water bottle. Damn. After a Richland County jury read the verdict, you can hear Cyrus’ family wailing as Rick bowed his head into his hands. “This makes us feel as if our children don’t matter and they do,” family attorney Todd Rutherford told reporters. “This makes us feel like Cyrus’ life didn’t matter and it did.”
During closing arguments, defense attorney Sean Kent had the audacity to claim his client acted in self-defense. Ain’t that a bitch? “This case is not about a shoplifter,” Kent told jurors. “This case is about a father who sees a gun pointed at his son and had to make a decision.” Defense attorney Jack Swerling added, “My heart goes out to [Cyrus’ family], but a 14-year-old kid should not be roaming the streets of Columbia or South Carolina with a semiautomatic pistol loaded and ready to fire.”
Solicitor Byron E. Gipson told jurors Rick “chased a kid down [130 yards] and shot him in the back.”
How in the hell is that self-defense?
Not to mention Rick has a history of shooting at customers.
Social media reaction was venomous.
One commenter wrote, “Black people, stop going to their places of business. Get your fried rice, hair weave and fake nails somewhere else.”
Another chimed in with, “That same jury would have found a black defendant guilty under the same circumstances.”
A third person added, “F*ck the court system.”
Prior to the killing, Rick’s wife followed Cyrus around the store à la the nosy Chinese lady who yelled “Hurry up and buy!” in the 1996 comedy “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.”
Cyrus’ family held a prayer vigil ✝ outside Rick’s store where bereavers arranged a bunch of empty water bottles to spell out the kid’s name.

I do not believe Rick Chow did shoot Cyrus. 61 year old man ran 100 yards and caught up with a 14 year old?
Rick Chow and his entire family were certainly guilty of ending that baby’s life.
The wife, instigated, That Chow guy pursued Cyrus, the son caught and committed the atrocity.
The prosecutor did not do his job. There was no charge of manslaughter. The legal definition of hmurder requires intent which is difficult for even the best attorney to prove.

Justice wasn’t administered in this case. Even if a person was stealing, it shouldn’t come with a death sentence.

America’s criminal justice system is to support white supremacy and crimes against black bodies aren’t a priority. America racist people are celebrating their hatard without consequences regardless of their ethic group as long it’s racist are against black Americans.
Ultimately until black people understand you should not step foot into these businesses, the ones that fail to learn this concept and don’t teach their kids this concept will have these same scenarios play out in their lives. Stop teaching your black kids that they need to be in community with people who don’t look like them because they have opportunity and access because that opportunity and access is built off of black people not having it, stop telling black children to love people who don’t love them. All of these black people who interracially date and marry are some of the most confined brainwashed people you will ever meet because they are not in an environment to be able to express what is happening to them in a healthy manner because it will offend who they are with. They often are overcompensating and looking at a bigger picture that does not exist in the context they are trying to create. Loving all people can only exist with reciprocated respect and community uplift. That does exist for black Americans in America when it comes to dealing with other communities. They believe they are better than other black people who are more self interested because they allow themselves to be used by other communities because they desire the access other communities may have. If we change we have to be the change. Interracial dating and have biracial kids will never be the change.

Stop going to these stores and keep your money in your pocket. That is the only thing they care about. Don’t give them anymore of your money, and watch what happens!!!!!!

The idiots claiming that this store owner had a right to shoot this child while he was running away from him is so cruel and unjust. Claiming self defense while the claimed perpetrator is running away makes no sense. Yes he supposedly had a gun, but they claim it fell from the child. He got scared and shoot the kid for what? If you that trigger happy and can’t reason out the situation before using deadly force then you SHOULDN’T have a gun. Justice was not served. He should serve some time for chasing that kid and shooting him. How you claim self defense on a 14 yr old kid that’s running away from you? Bullshit
Mr. Chow and his family were so racist that they left that other black patron standing in the store at the cash register with no other clerks around while they went and handled business🤔
I believe the kid went into the store with the empty backpack with the intention to steal the waters but he was being monitored so closely that he decided to abort the mission. Putting the waters back and trying to leave just raised the owners suspicions of him even more. Those Asians store owners are so sick of dealing with shop lifters that they stay on top of certain customers who fit the “shop lifter” description. HOWEVER, I’m not chasing anyone a football field down the block just for $4 of water. I would take that kids picture from the surveillance camera and hang it up in my store and I wouldn’t let him back in ever again. I think the store owner and the black kid are both at fault for this one. Now the owner had to pay for legal defense and a kid is dead instead of losing 4 bucks. Doesn’t seem like it was worth it to go after him.
