T-Pain says ‘stop celebrating.’

Blog King, Mass Appeal

LOS ANGELES — T-Pain ruffled feathers the other day when he suggested we stop celebrating Black History Month. The “Bartender” artist believes negro tradition should be recognized 24/7, 365 days a year; not just February, the most diminutive month on the calendar. “It’s always been f*cked up, it’s been f*cked up for hella years,” T-Pain, 37, told TMZ after they caught up with his black ass at Los Angeles International Airport. “We take it how we’ve been taking it. We going to make changes, look towards the future and stop looking at the past and we’ll make a change.” T-Pain also laments the downtrodden state of black proprietorship. “It ain’t gonna stop unless we have our own sh*t,” he fumed. “Just because we’re HBCUs don’t mean it ain’t owned by someone else. We know what we’ve done, lets make our own sh*t and we can get in wherever the f*ck we want to.”

“Stop celebrating,” T-Pain continued. “Although we celebrate Black History Month, I think we should just have history. They overshot it. We don’t want our own sh*t, you’re separating us again. We want to be part of history and not just one month of it. Like we want to be part of history, don’t celebrate one month for us. I’d rather everybody stop celebrating that sh*t and just let us be part of history and not just, ‘y’all get paid attention to on the shortest month of the year.'”

Do you share T-Pain’s sentiment?

Is it time to deep-six Black History Month.

  1. Black history is American history. To set aside a black history months implies that there is some distinction between black history and American history. Furthering the divide between us.

  2. T pain really.isn’t wrong though… Starting and celebrating this “black history month” is the worst thing black folks can do for themselves. 1. It’s self segregating behavior and 2. You can’t put the entire history of a race into 1 month!

  3. Agreed…Black History is American history…black, white, brown, its all OURS!!!! Own it!!

  4. Morgan Freeman said it best – Black history is American history. By having a month of celebration which in theory sounds good on paper, is continuing the narrative that black people are separate from the “main” America. Even the name “African American” is a slap in the face. Unless you were born in Africa and moved to America, you are simply American. No white person that has been in the country for centuries is calling themselves “European Americans”.

  5. When is Jewish history month?
    When is Asian history month?
    How bout hispanic month?
    Native American months?

    ☝🏻

    Exactly.

  6. the idea of black history is exactly what they’re doing to society. Like he says right at the start. Don’t give us black history month. You’re separating us once again. Fuckin exactly. You yell about inclusivity but make sure you have your little title that pronounces your differences or you’re racist…

  7. He got a point black history is American history. For me I personally don’t give a damn it’s just sad that once Feb rolls around you hear the same talking points. Slavery Harriet Tubman Rosa Parks MLK Jr when black culture is so much bigger than the talking points. Not to mention the fact it minimalizes the role black people had and do have in shaping America. Sorry boys can’t speak on Canadas relationship with black history month I’m American

  8. Black history month was put in place to make sure all you black people never forget you were slaves.

  9. Can white people then have the same? Why is it racist if we took a month and highlighted white history? Yall wanna talk black history let’s talk about the kings that sold you and still having slaves today

  10. Black History, or more specifically African American History should be taught like any other history, but there’s literally a reason why half of students don’t know about the Tulsa race massacre or other twisted shit done to African Americans. If America can keep teaching its generations of children history that conveniently doesn’t show the History of African Americans, people can continue feeling comfortable with saying “Racism doesn’t exist in modern day America”.

  11. Black ppl cry too much. Everything is racist. If you want us to be one giant race then stop separating yourself with black churches, black business, black schools, black communities, black history month, black this and black that. Y’all want everything to be only for black ppl but then complain about how white ppl do the same. You don’t see white history month or white churches or white business. No. It’s always black ppl complaining they we separate them but they are the ones separating themselves. Just be human not black or white damn. Slavery was sooo long ago. Get over it and stop blaming ppl for your life. Nobody on earth today had anything to do with slavery and nobody on earth today was ever a slave in the USA so move on already smh

  12. I disagree with stop celebrating black history month . T Pain can’t speak of ALL of African Americans. T Pain gonna get his wish soon . I see this coming .

  13. No he’s right fuck black history it should be just history it’s another way to separate us.

  14. Malcolm X Warned Blacks about White Liberals…Today’s left is no better than they were decades ago, when the late Malcolm X torpedoed white liberals and other Democrats as virtue-signaling hypocrites who exploit black people to gain power. In 1965, X delivered a scathing smackdown of white liberals, whom he declared the “enemy of black people.” “In this crooked game of power politics here in America, the Negro — namely the race problem, integration and civil rights issues — are all nothing but tools used by the whites who call themselves liberals against another group of whites who call themselves conservatives, either to get into power or to retain power,” X said. While he slammed both liberals and conservatives, Malcolm X said white liberals are far more sinister because they pretend to be allies while shamelessly weaponizing race to stoke division in order to win power. “The white liberal differs from the white conservative only in one way: The liberal is more deceitful, more hypocritical, than the conservative,” Malcolm said. “Both want power, but the white liberal is the one who has perfected the art of posing as the Negro’s friend and benefactor.”

  15. if we have a black history month we should have a white history month, and an asian history month, and a Russian history month etc. slavery happened, get over it. It didn’t happen to you, and worse shit has happened to other races. Inter-generational grifting is the exact opposite of what MLK wanted for America, not that a single virtue signaling liberal gives a shit about twisting his message to fit their agenda.

  16. I agree….it’s bullshit and was always a lowkey slap in the face, just another way to marginalize us, and try to minimize our contribution to the existence of this place.

Not that it’s anything to be proud of.

  17. The problem is the woke crowd doesn’t want to celebrate anything they want to divide people into intersectional groups based on how much each was oppressed. That nonsense is going to divide the country and turn us against one another.

  18. At first glance, you see that statement and think it’s outrageous but he makes a good point. Every February kids in school learn about black history, you know the MLKs, the Rosa Parks, the Harriet Tubman’s, which is great. But notice how we never talk about those people the 11 other months of the year? Black history is American history and they should be learning about it year round, just like all of the other curriculum. It’s not that black history month is an inherently bad thing, it’s just all the history gets brushed over for the rest of the year.

  19. They gave us the shortest month and when it’s the coldest everywhere 🤔🤷🏽‍♂️S.O.B’s

  20. The impact black folks have made since the beginning of humanity is HUGE!! To give one month to acknowledge the plethora of things accomplished by black folks in music, theatre, sports, inventions etc which had a revolutionizing impact on humanity, Is far too long to be covered in just one month. They have done more than just the underground railroad, having dreams, and being the first president of the U.S.

  21. Whoever picked that month is a piece of shit. February sucks, give them July or sometime in the summer when people actually want to CELEBRATE.

  22. Black people are the one separating themselves from others …… they are the one still voting for democrats even after 50 years of failure. They simply don’t want racism to go away it gives them a reason to live

  23. I gotta admit i always wondered why there was a black history month and nothing to memorialize the millions of Native Americans slaughtered to create this country. 🤷‍♂️ America isnt about just black and white, but you wouldnt know it as they act like they are the only 2 enthicities in this country with rights to be here 🤷‍♂️

  24. Public schools should teach black history month but focus more on leaders that hated the government, that hated DEMOCRTAS, LIBERALS AND THE FUCKING LEFT.
MALCOM X LEARN ABOUT HIM, LOOK FOR HIS INTERVIEWS AND LISTEN TO WHAT HE HAS TO SAY ABOUT DEMOCRATS AND LIBERALS MANIPULATED BLACKS, TEACH ABOUT TUPAC SHAKUR, YES 2PAC, LISTEN TO HIS INTERVIEWS HIS FUCKING SONGS ABOUT HOW BILL CLINTON (D) IS TRASH, LISTEN TO HIM BLAST AL SHARPTON AND JESSE JACKSON ON HOW THEY EXPLOIT BLACK PEOPLE. GO BACK AND CHECK THE HISTORY ON HOW THE EARLY BLACK LEADERS HATED DEMOCRATS BECAUSE DEMOCRATS WANTED TO KEEP BLACKS ENSALVED, THEY WANTED SEGREGATION, READ FOLKS READ. IM NOT BLACK YET HISTORY HAS SHOWN ME THAT BLACK PEOPLE SUFFER FOR THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE THE SAME WAY HISPANICS SUFFER IN THEIR OWN RESPECTIVELY COUNTRIES. HOPEFULLY IN THIS YEARS HISTORY MONTH YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN HISTORY NOT THE INDOCTRINATION PUBLIC SCHOOLS TEACH.

  25. T-Pain is absolutely correct. When is was in school, Black History was pretty much that blacks were slaves, then we were freed, Martin Luther King, The End. Sprinkle that with some Rosa Parks and a few other things and that’s it. I had to go to college and take black history to learn anything beyond that. The only exception was if I had a black English teacher that made you do a paper on a black historical figure in February. I understand that without black history month being initiated that there probably wouldn’t be anything taught in school, but it’s past time to make black history just another part of American History and not just reduce it to the shortest month of the year

  26. Years from now they’ll talk about Changing the name to African American history month, dividing people what want to be called “black” and people that want to be called “African American” who will start the conversation, you guessed it, some purple haired rich white girl.
