JACKSONVILLE — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. A sextet of gang bangers were thrown in the slammer for the shooting death of 7-year-old Breon Allen Jr. The homicide transpired on January 24, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida. Breon was walking with his cousin, 21-year-old Lafayette Mango Jr., when a black Kia pulled up and the gunmen opened fire. Breon was killed in the drive-by and Lafayette was seriously injured. Six thugs were arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. They are: 17-year-old Tavaris Kelly, 17-year-old Donte McGhee, 18-year-old Keith Fields, 20-year-old Dannel Larkins, 21-year-old Keith Johnson and 24-year-old Zharod Sykes. Sheriff T.K. Waters said Tavaris and Donte were “the actual gunmen who carried out this horrific and brutal shooting.” Investigators also learned Breon wasn’t the intended target. He was just an innocent kid caught in the crossfire of a long-standing gang feud.
Lafayette, a rapper and associate of the criminal gang “ATK,” was the intended target. The aforementioned shooters are members of his rival, the “6 Block” street gang. Their feud has spanned more than a decade with dozens of murders left behind, which includes the shooting death of rapper Julio Foolio. Breon’s parents, Casheena Love and Breon Allen Sr., couldn’t believe six assailants were connected to their son’s murder. “They all kids, haven’t even experienced life yet. That’s what’s crazy,” Casheena told reporters.
“There is so much more to do than hanging [around] and shooting and hurting [people].”
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “The intended target always survives. Smh.”
Another chimed in with, “They saw that baby and still opened fire. So pathetic.”
A third person added, “I blame black women for choosing these trifling deadbeats to have children with.”
Breon was a young football star with an incredibly bright future.

This is why I would never have a kid by someone in the streets. If you kill one of their own they will come for you if they can’t get to you they’ll come for your kids or family. It’s selfish.
