MIAMI — Antonio Brown might spend some time behind bars after he was involved in a shooting in May at Adin Ross’ celebrity boxing event. A viral video shows the quondam Pittsburgh Steelers receiver fighting a bunch of dudes before he grabbed a security guard’s gun and fired twice. Antonio was initially detained by police. But they let him go only to renege a month later and charge him with attempted murder. Antonio, 36, claimed he acted in self-defense. “I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” he tweeted. “Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED. I will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me.”
Antonio also lambasted the Miami-Dade Police Department for backtracking. “How TF You go from being victimized unto a attempt to murder?” he vented. “Took a month to change the narrative…” Fans on social media are blaming CTE for Antonio’s predicament. One commenter wrote, “100% CTE but it doesn’t excuse his actions.” Another chimed in with, “One of the best wide receivers ever and this is what he is now? Vontaze Burfict got him good. He gotta have CTE at this point.”
A third person added, “Ever since he was knocked out by Vontaze Burfict, he has had serious mental issues. He probably has CTE and needs medical treatment. He has never been forced to get help and now he will.”
Should Antonio undergo a mental evaluation?

That Burfict hit ruined AB. He hasnt been the same since….CTE is a career killer.
The only issue I have is if he has CTE and it’s as bad as some people say it is we can’t hold him 100% accountable for actions that we know he probably wouldn’t do if he didn’t have CTE if he was some kind of violent murderer he wouldn’t have made it this long in life and it played that long in the NFL without killing somebody. When we found out Aaron Hernandez had the worst case of CTE that the doctors had seen and someone his age ever and most people act like that means nothing and he still a monster and he still 100% to blame. How is that possible they literally have a rotting of the brain in areas that control impulse violent behavior rational thinking basically the parts of your brain that keep normal people normal. Something’s got to be done to where if an athlete knows he’s got CTE very bad he needs to be monitored on a weekly basis have to see certain specialists that could talk to him about impulses he’s having thoughts he’s having violent outbursts etc. Because these men didn’t ask to get this severe brain damage from playing a sport they loved. We sure as hell enjoyed watching them destroy their brains. The NFL is the biggest sport in the world. So if we’re going to continue to watch these guys destroy themselves and then not give two shits that when their careers over their suffering and in some cases the rotting of their brain is causing them to act violent save violent things have suicidal thoughts etc we need to help these guys and know that in most cases they’re not responsible for these actions and I think as long as they follow along with therapy exams anything that can help them with the issues they’re having due to the CTE then if something like this happens where an athlete for no reason shoots an almost kill somebody as long as they were doing everything they were told to do by their doctors they should be given a pass and a sense not to where they can do anything illegal they want., but if it’s something that just doesn’t make sense like attacking someone they don’t know and trying to kill them for no reason without any sign or warning. They then should be placed under the supervision of doctors , with power of attorney given to someone appointed by doctors, therapists, close family members who can make sure he’s getting the treatment that he needs and that will also take care of his legal obligations, bills and the maintaining of his finances etc. I know there’s a lot to this but I’m sorry I just think it’s a travesty that someone diagnosed with a very very serious brain condition which has been proven to cause individual severe depression, suicidal thoughts, irrational outbursts, the list goes on and quite frankly it’s a scary list of symptoms CTE patients suffer from on a daily basis. To hear ex-football players and commentators on ESPN say that it’s unfortunate Aaron Hernandez had CT that bad he feels no remorse towards him because of the lives he took and it’s no excuse for what he did. I just don’t see how you could still have so much anger and hate towards Hernandez knowing that the majority of his brain was basically rotted away. Large holes in areas of the most important in the brain. I think if they had someone close to them or even themselves be diagnosed with CTE And then do something terrible That’s completely unlike them and they get arrested and put in jail and no one cares what the doctor say about their CTE and how it caused them to act this way. I think they would be changing their story especially if it was a loved one. In fact they would probably become the largest advocate for former athletes with CTE that find themselves in prison or in trial.
Stop wearing all that jewelry in public you don’t even play football anymore. You need security if you’re going to have all that on you.

I do feel for him but “let’s be real,” a brain injury is no reason to act like a complete fool. Lots and lots of people, myself included, have had similar or the same injuries and brain damage, but if any of us were to act the way he has since his injury we would be absolutely railed. But he’s one of the greatest football players ever so everyone wants to use a head injury as an excuse for his actions. There’s no excuse.
Come on people! AB had so many red flags 🚩 in his pre-draft summary that they basically predicted his future to a T, and it almost caused him to go undrafted as a result.
They said he was a Naturally Talented, but Durable Prima Donna Player with Lazy Work Ethic, Anger/Agression Issues, a “Me First” Attitude, Concentration and Judgemental Lapses, and also Personality/Character Issues that were very concerning. 🤦♂️

It’s painfully obvious that he’s needed way more than just a few Counseling Sessions for his lifelong Mental Illnesses, and it didn’t stem from concussions!
