EVANSVILLE — Vicky White, the Alabama prison guard who helped capital murder suspect Casey White escape, blew her own brains out on Monday. The suicide transpired after police officers rammed into their getaway vehicle during a high-speed chase that began at a hotel in Evansville, Indiana. A car wash owner provided a tip on their whereabouts following an intense 11-day manhunt. Once encircled, Casey surrendered to U.S. Marshals and was taken into custody. Vicky was transported to Deaconess Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her boss, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton, said he had “every bit of trust” in Vicky as an employee prior to the breakout. “I had every bit of trust in Vicky White. She has been an exemplary employee,” he told reporters. “What in the world provoked her, prompted her, to pull something like this, I don’t know. I don’t know if we’ll ever know.” Um, Sheriff… doesn’t take a rocket scientist to conclude Vicky was f*ckin’ Casey.

Social media reaction was mixed. One person wrote, “Love can make you do strange things. Thinking with your heart and not your head.” Another chimed in with, “This is so sad. One can only wonder why she fell for this guy. I feel bad for her family. I hope she’s in a better place now.” A third person added, “She broke the law, she was a criminal. Get the f*ck outta here with this BS!”
Singleton said no officers or citizens were harmed during the pursuit.
“We got a dangerous man off the streets today,” he said of Casey, 38.
“He is never going to see the light of day again.”
Vicky, 56, served more than 20 years in law enforcement.
She was scheduled to retire next year.
Vicky also sold her house at 50% of market value to help Casey abscond.
Sucks to see her throw her life away over a murderous piece of sh*t.
Just goes to show women love bad boys.

I can’t get my mind around the thought as to how did she think she could pull this off? The man is 6ft. 9in., not hard to miss. Even with his baseball cap on you notice his very large ears. It looks like they had no travel plan to escape, spent 6 days in a near by town. He was a murderer & psycho. Can love be that BLIND????????? Crazy.😟😲😈

I don’t reckon she took her life, I think he did it. After the crash, she might have said to him something as simply as “I’m now going to prison, I can’t do that, I can’t go to prison”, crying and in pain and then he, being a murderer, just grabbed her gun and gone bang. For he may have also shared important information with her, that she could use later if left alive. Feel sorry for her family.
I am sure she did it, Vicky White called 911 before she killed herself while being chased by US Marshals.

I remember watching the escape video and she holds the door for him as if annoyed. I don’t think she was having an affair with him. I personally think that she was blackmailed into it. I don’t believe she killed herself,,,I believe Casey killed her so she wouldn’t tell the truth. Vicky had a SOLID Rep. The only ones that say relationship are inmates and it was for extra food. Sure glad that piece of crap is going back to a jail where Vicky was well Loved.

I can’t understand – what was true motivation for Vicky White ( as correctional officer with 20 years experience!) to help dangerous prisoner in escaping facility ? She supposed to know as nobody else due to her profession that most likely they would be caught, no matter how good it was planned. What factors pushed her to the edge? Poor lady is dead and dangerous prisoner alive.
Anybody else doubtful that she killed herself? I have a strong feeling that he did it to her. I cant explain why but I do. What a waste of her life. She was going to retire very soon, if I recall. Such a shame.
Do we actually believe she shot herself ?? I do NOT believe she shot herself, no way. He shot her. Looks like they got into a fight while driving and he shot her. Maybe he had already shot her and was driving erratic with her because of it.
Vicky killed herself which is sad because we all wanted her in custody. She was on the phone with dispatch and they heard her say she had her finger on the trigger so these conspiracy nutcases need to go find something else to conspire about!!

Two ways to look at this.. One she committed suicide.. Two he shot her.. Problem with that is, he ALREADY is facing the death penalty he has nothing to loose.. So, she may have asked him to shoot her because of all the embarrassment..We still want to know what made her go to the low life she did.. pills, drugs, mental conditions, medical conditions.. there has to be a reason.. Dealing with inmates every day got to her..
Give “BIG GAME JAMES” the reward money. $$$$$$$$$$ The Sheriff should be held alittle bit accountable. Should of had a couple officers escorting the inmate to the car or watched him go out the front door. No way he should of walked out by a female CO?

Such a sad ending. People no matter how much you mess up, suicide is not the way to go. Hell is real and you literally will be reliving your suicide for eternity. In hell there is no God, no love , no peace, no light, no joy, no happiness only eternal punishment, if you die without Jesus. This is not God’s will for anyone’s life. Surrender to God wherever you are, mess and all. Even if you must go to jail take that time and cry out to Jesus. Better that now and heaven later, than die by your own hands and no Jesus there.
I pray that with her last few breaths that she was able to repent and ask God to forgive her. God is so merciful even to our last breath He is calling to every heart “Come unto me all you who are heavy laden. And I will give you rest.”

Casey needs to be moved to a high security, high tech prison not the old dusty County jail…..he should be single cell only, double shackled, restricted movement,1 hr of rec alone…with 30 minute checks and limited interaction with guards

Funny how the world works.. guard breaks inmate out of prison, guard is the reason they were caught, and guard died all so the inmate could end up right where he was before… A con man could easily see the woman’s low self esteem and use that as a tool to gain her trust, making her believe they were “in love” that they would run off together, just so he could get out. Don’t let woman work in a mens jail, definitely don’t let a man work in a woman’s prison
sadly this turned out the exact way a lot of us feared….with Vicky dead and Caseys week long vacation being over and done with and him being escorted BACK to jail. a womans life was lost – by both her poor decision and Caseys influence. no offense to Alabama and its residence but…..im going to go out on a limb and say that that small town and its police department isnt exactly staffed with rhode scholars. so for her to have had a six hour head start, abandoned the copper colored car for a week before anyone noticed, made it all the way to Indiana, only to have their location HAND FED to those on the case by this car wash owner is a stain not just on thar police department but the justice system as a whole. im unsure why they went north to indiana and not south. perhaps they figured everyone would be expecting them to head south to mexico so they went north? either way, they had a ton of cash and a head start. only thing hurting them was Caseys height.
If females were not allowed to be in men’s prisons this wouldn’t happen

Why does it take 15 to 20 cops once the car is wrecked and the killer is in custody and the other person dead? Kinda of like all the cops want to hangout and be seen on tv !
They wanted to get caught. They stayed in a hotel next to major road. They went to a car wash and got out of the vehicle. Left a truck in the car wash. Stupid is as stupid does….

I know a lot of people are wondering why she went this route… Relationships between corrections officers and inmates are very common.. a majority of people who marry meet in the workplace.. and although a inmate is not a employee, that closeness can evolve into intimate situations.. I don’t know Vicky’s reasons why.. maybe she was lonely, not happy in her home or personal life … In all my living I have learned that, people need people, and it don’t matter what they may or may not have in common.. we are social creatures looking for love and a place to belong…. I’m so sad she didn’t make it.. I guess once that beautiful mirage of a dream faded, she couldn’t face the reality of the consequences… She will never be a criminal in my book ♥️🌹

Vicky could have easily used her alias name to purchase some land up north state Mississippi where land is still semi cheap and out in the middle of nowhere for miles. She could have even put a decent house on it with all the money she had and lived off grid. She would have lost a ton of weight drastically changing her appearance within a month and could have cut and dyed her hair pink, brown, or even curl it gray to look much older. I’m not sure what she was thinking. Harboring a criminal for weeks at a time on the road staying at hotels was disaster waiting to happen. This was lust and not true love.
This was a huge train wreck for her that is horrible to watch . She invested so much and lost it all.
