BEAUFORT COUNTY — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Jordan Isaiah Thomas, 39, was thrown in the slammer after he murdered 19-year-old Amarriah CeAnna Smith because she no longer wanted to date him. The femicide transpired on January 16, 2024 in Washington, North Carolina. According to police reports, Amarriah met Jordan at the tattoo parlor he worked at. Not sure why she dated a man twice her age. But, Amarriah eventually came to her senses and ended the relationship. Just days before her quietus, Amarriah posted this cryptic message on Facebook: “Everything that comes to you, isn’t always for you. Keep your eyes on the prize.” Feeling jilted, Jordan determined if he couldn’t have her no one can. So he killed Amarriah at his home, stuffed her in the trunk of his car, drove to Tyro Crushing, and left it abandoned in the parking lot.
Then Jordan stole a truck and used it as a getaway vehicle.
Employees at Tyco Crushing had the automobile towed away. A tow truck employee discovered Amarriah’s corpse after hauling the vehicle to their facility. Jordan was arrested and charged with murder. What’s sad is Amarriah didn’t get a chance to fulfill her potential. In high school, she was a cheerleader and senior class president. After graduating, Amarriah studied early education at Elizabeth City State University where she was a sophomore with aspirations of becoming a teacher.
“Her untimely death, which occurred off campus, has left our community saddened,” said ECSU Chancellor Dr. Karrie Dixon.
“Please keep Amarriah’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “She looks just like Nicki Minaj.😑 As the internet says…they love their Pookies and Ray Rays.”
Another person added, “BLACK WOMEN STOP 🛑 DATING THEM THUGS 👀 RIP 🙏🏿🙏🏿.”
Red flags were everywhere.
Jordan shot his previous girlfriend.
Yet, Amarriah dated him anyway.

That man has sick eyes learn these eyes ladies I was harassed so severely by a narcissist for 8 years who couldn’t take no for answer. It caused me and my mother severeeeee nervous breakdowns in the end it led to my parents deaths 10 months ago. After 19 years of sobriety they relapsed under that severe duress and died. I want him in jail so bad but without money for a lawyer it won’t happen. It’s simple it’s not safe for women to date honestly I’ll never date again but I’m older now 44.
