CINCINNATI — “🎵F*ck the police comin’ straight from the underground. A young nigga got it bad ’cause I’m brown.🎵” Rodney Hinton Jr. was thrown in the slammer after he ran over a sheriff’s deputy in retaliation of a cop killing his 18-year-old son. The crime of passion transpired on May 2, 2025 near the University of Cincinnati. According to reports, Rodney’s son — Ryan Hinton — and three of his friends stole a car and tried to evade police. Body-cam footage shows Officer Cian McGrath pointing his gat at Ryan before firing multiple shots — striking him in the chest and arm. Then he yelled, “Get the fuck down!” McGrath claimed Ryan was armed. But the footage doesn’t show the teen brandishing a gun. Nevertheless… the next day, Rodney descried the video and blew a gasket. Then he hopped in his car, slammed on the gas and ran over retired Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy Larry Henderson who was busy directing traffic for a graduation ceremony. Rodney was arrested and charged with aggravated murder.
Prosecutors want the death penalty.
During his arraignment, Rodney stared down every cop in the courtroom. He wasn’t intimidated at all. A GoFundMe account was set up on Rodney’s behalf. He was succored with thousands of dollars in donations until Jay McDonald, President of the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, sent a letter to GoFundMe officials — calling the fundraiser “absolutely outrageous.” He wasn’t alone.
More than 20,000 cops filed a complaint.
The GoFundMe page has since been removed.
“To allow fundraisers for a cop killer is just over the line,” McDonald said.
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “The brotha had a moment of temporary insanity after watching that video of how police killed his son needlessly, lied about it, then got off scot-free. Any reasonable person would have lost their mind and done something stupid in that situation.”
Another person added, “Cops been killing niggas for decades. Payback’s a bitch.”
Scuttlebutt has it a woman was driving the car and Rodney was merely a passenger.
She reportedly died at the scene.
Do you think police are covering it up?

He is trying to use the mental card. Makes me so angry. He knew exactly what he was doing.
@Danita Morris: I wouldn’t conclude that he wasn’t under a huge amount of grief, stress, and other factors to drive him to do something out of the ordinary for him.
So the cop didn’t get sentenced to aggravated murder too ! GTFOH!
He wants to play mental plead but always smiling at the cameras like he happy with what he did and try to put fear in the way he looks at every cop in the court room. I pray he repents.
2 counts of murder he wasn’t the driver
People are saying he wasn’t driving
Its all over for this clown 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Donald Trump’s fault. Racism is off the rails since he took over. He’s doing way to much as a president 😮😮
The officer started something very bad for this country cause alot of black people are saying they will not protest anymore they will handle it in another way and that’s what Rodney did😮😮
EYE FOR AN EYE 👁 BITCHES!!!

Rodney Hinton Jr. was charged with two counts of aggravated murder, yet the Cincinnati Police Department only mentioned one victim at their press conference—the sheriff’s deputy.
What they conveniently left out was that a woman, who was also in the car, had died as well. Days went by before they even acknowledged her as a second alleged victim. Why? Because CPD wanted to control the narrative early and create public bias against Hinton Jr. By holding that information back and introducing it later, it looks like they were either stacking charges or backfilling a weak case.
Now there’s talk that the woman might have actually been the driver, which completely changes everything.
Let’s not forget, they also said the car was stolen—it wasn’t. They said he had a gun—he didn’t. This case has been shady from the start. Sadly, this is exactly the kind of manipulation we’ve seen before from Cincinnati law enforcement.
Under no circumstances, should that man be allowed to live his life in prison, he’s a monster who deserves the chair, his kid was obviously no better and he must’ve been a terrible father for his kid to turn out that way
I say eye 4 an eye
He should not be charged at all
I keep reading the phrase “An eye for an eye” in these comments. The people using it clearly have no idea what the statement means. It does not mean that individuals have the right to vigilante justice. Instead it meant that the punishment should be proporsional. The punishment should fit the crime. This concept is one of the central principles of western justice systems. What Mr. Hinton did is the exact opposite of an eye for an eye. It was injustice at its worst.
These people are tried of police brutality killing their kids, their neighbors, then the police officers go to their homes huge their kisses them goo night, while the black peoples cry for their kids
After he gets the big needle, they can use the money to build a monument to him.
He intentionally took a man away from his family that had nothing to do with him. He had no quarrel with the officer, didn’t even give the officer a chance to defend himself or get away. Cowardice action. Put him under the jail.
Cian McGrath is the cop who Murdered his son.
