SOUTHFIELD — The only certain things in life are death, taxes and down-low men killing chicks with dicks. Robert Ridges III, 28, was thrown in the slammer after he murdered 29-year-old Jamal “Tahiry” Broom to conceal his homosexuality. The homicide transpired around 10:15 a.m. on February 9, 2025 outside the Riverstone Apartments in Southfield, Michigan. According to reports, Robert hired Jamal — a tranny prostitute — to come to his apartment and give up the bussy. After busting a nut, Robert told Jamal he was short on cash 💰💰💰 — then ordered him to keep their dalliance a secret. But, when the tranny threatened to expose him, Robert pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Jamal in the head. Then he fled the scene in Jamal’s 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. Detectives got a warrant and searched Robert’s crib where they found the 9mm handgun and ammunition that were used in the shooting. Forensics also showed there was jizz, fudge and booty juice all over the place.
When asked why he took Jamal’s life, Robert said because he realized he’s a man. But there’s ample evidence that proves otherwise. Robert made more than 30 phone calls to various gay sex workers. “Mostly, all the persons the suspect sought out were black females, which included members of the transgender community,” Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren told reporters.
“At 10 a.m., the suspect received a phone call from our victim, and that would be the last phone call that our victim would make.”
Robert was arrested at a casino and charged with second-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm possession.
He’s facing a life sentence without parole.
“Every person is entitled to live without fear of violence,” Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in a press release.
“Tahiry Broom had family and friends who loved her. She did not deserve to die and her killer will be brought to justice.”
Social media reaction was vicious.
One commenter wrote, “When will these trans women learn to stop interacting with these closeted, down-low, bisexual men!!!🤔🤔”
