HOLLYWOOD — Surviving Martin? Culture Spill released the documentary of Tisha Campbell-Martin who accused Martin Lawrence of sexual harassment on the set of their 90s comedy sitcom “Martin.” At the behest of her husband (Duane Martin), Tisha sued Martin in 1996 for “repeated and escalating sexual harassment, sexual battery, verbal abuse and related threats.” She claimed he groped her ass and tongue kissed her. At one point, Tisha implored the writing team to eschew scripting bedroom scenes. She also said Martin threatened to fire her and the entire cast. The case became so stressful, a disoriented Martin ran into the middle of L.A. traffic with a gun and yelled at drivers. “They’re trying to kill me!” he screamed. “Fight the establishment!” The dispute was eventually settled out of court. But the damage was done.
“Martin” was cancelled after 5 seasons (1992-1997).
Social media reaction was Icy Hot. One commenter wrote, “I believe she made everything up. She seems like the type of person who likes the spotlight and wants to have a story for acceptance. In other words, SHE’S A DAMN DRAMA QUEEN!” Another chimed in with, “Martin was in love with her but she wanted Duane.” A third viewer added, “I feel Tisha’s husband was behind it all! She was in an abusive marriage that was very stressful, which transferred negative aggression into her work issues with Martin!”
After not speaking to each other for 25 years, Tisha and Martin mended fences last year on BET’s “Martin: The Reunion.”
It was incredibly awkward to say the least.
But give ’em credit for making up.

Just think about it , as soon as Tisha and Dwayne divorced now Tisha was “comfortable ” with being around Martin.
I am just amazed how Tichina could remain friends with both Tisha and Martin through the years.
Tisha probably had too many people in her ear. It happens when you have a successful show and the money is flowing. Tisha and Martin go back a long time and they have been in lots and lots of movies together so I believe they are friends. Tisha was probably being pulled by both her husband and her role in the show and was confused. She shouldn’t have sued Martin because he did a lot for her and kept his promise to her to be on his show. I believe Martin did have feelings for her and she should have chosen Martin instead of broke-ass Dwayne, even now Martin is wealthy, but can’t say the same for Dwayne and Tisha.
Tisha killed that show and she now regrets it. Life became tougher after the show than she could have expected. That’s hollywood for you. One or two successes don’t guarantee you a permanent place in hollywood. Trisha and her now ex-husband know that by now.
Both of them were freaks 😆. Martin just got caught up in the good good.

I think Martin and Tisha was smashing…then Tisha wanted to cut Martin off abruptly and get with Dwayne..Martin felt played..no man in his right mind could just walk away from Gina back then…her booty alone will have any man sprung.

I think Martin did exactly what Tisha said he did just looking at the scenes you can clearly see he was a little overbearing even tichina said she understood why Tisha had to leave also Martin was heavily on drugs and alcohol so he probably didn’t see it as being sexual if she repeatedly asked him to stop and he wouldn’t then she did what was best for her and I completely support her decision overall I love them both together on the show and Martin is a comedy genius but that’s no reason to say she’s lying and for the record no one from the show spoke out about the situation but several of them had their own issues with Martin soooo ijs

I honestly think they were fine with their situationship until Duane came along. Her and Duane started dating, and her and Martin’s situationship changed. Obviously ego is a factor, but Martin needed time to adjust, and his behavior towards her might not have been appropriate in her new relationship at the time. Meaning flirting, touching, insulation’s, etc… She wasn’t responding how she normally would because she was moving fast and respected her marriage. They’re fine now because time heals wounds, and her and Duane aren’t together, but realistically speaking, the drama was never that serious.

Tisha Campbell wanted to do an album during taping of the season, and they producers of the show said no. Duane Martin came up with a plan to tell her to say Martin was touching her so she could get out of her contract.
