SOUTHFIELD — Ephesians 6:2 says, “Honor your father and mother.” Riley Donaldson, 22, was thrown in the slammer after she deleted her own mama, 45-year-old Ada Mae Simmons-Jones, during a custody battle. The matricide transpired on October 5, 2025 in Southfield, Michigan. According to reports, Ada went to court and was awarded full custody of her 3-year-old granddaughter because Riley was such a terrible mother. Scuttlebutt has it she’s a drug-addicted nymphomaniac. Plus, she was using the baby for welfare and food stamps. The judge’s ruling, however, pissed Riley off and she was determined to get her daughter back by any means necessary. On the night of the crime, Riley — who lived in Ohio — showed up at Ada’s home armed with a gun. “You took her from me,” Riley said, while cocking the pistol. “Riley, please — we can fix this,” Ada pleaded. Seconds later, Riley opened fire — striking Ada multiple times.
Riley fled the scene and drove 16 miles from Southfield to Detroit where she was busted the next day in a CVS parking lot. She had three n*ggas in the car who police said had nothin’ to do with the shooting. But they probably ran a train 🚂 on her nasty ass. Riley was arrested and charged with premeditated first-degree murder. Now she’ll spend the rest of her youth away from her child.
Southfield Police Chief Elvin V. Barren said Riley played crazy and “referred to herself as God” as she was being handcuffed.
He also said:
We are not going to let anyone use mental health as an escape.”
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “And now she STILL doesn’t have her daughter! This is insane. Like did she really think she would kill her mother, get her daughter and just live happily ever after?”
Another chimed in with, “SMH, foolish girl. Now the baby has to suffer. She is clearly not maternal material that’s why she lost custody in the first place.”
A third person added, “So now the baby will end up with God knows who… smh, just ignorant.”
Chief Barren said Riley would’ve got away with murder had she not dropped her purse and ID while fleeing.

My daughter was 16 when she had her baby. I told her that the only how i would ever take her baby from her, is if she didnt straighten up her life and leave the abusive baby father. My daughter will be 18 in march and her son is 1 year old and she has left the childs father and has improved her life. My mother is who cares for the baby because she is retired. I have to work. But believe me if i had to quit my job and live off of the government until my daughter was able to get on her feet i would. But thankfully i didnt have to. My daughter knew she didnt want the baby fully with me so she did what she had to do to make sure it didnt happen. This woman’s daughter is just a demon and needs to be locked away. She didnt care about the child, cuz if she did she would know that her mom was allowing that child to grow up in a stable home full of love. But she was just selfish.
I wouldn’t want to lose my child, but if so its better to lose her to a family member then the system, cause she could still see her whenever she wanted to. That’s just senseless man killing your own mother, what has the world come to.

This pissed me off. She was blessed and didn’t know it. It’s clear why the baby was with her Grandma. She was only 22. So many people do not have family members that’s willing to raise your child. She had an opportunity to get her life together and blew it. Crazy heffa. Now the baby ain’t got nobody. She probably was jealous of her own baby because you can’t tell me she cared about her daughter forreal.
