NEW YORK — When dissin’ blue-collar men goes terribly wrong. Eboni K. Williams, the gold digging barrister who once said she wouldn’t marry a bus driver ’cause he don’t make enough money, is back-pedaling like a mofo. Now she’s admitting single ladies should pursue wedding rings in conjunction with college degrees, even if it means settling for second-tier prospects. If you recall, cross-dressing filmmaker Tyler Perry echoed a homogeneous sentiment. The Madea thespian said women should be satisfied with men paying the light bill only. Then there’s the issue of duration. It’s Eboni’s assertion a man’s socioeconomic status improves with age whereas a woman’s biological clock equates to depreciation. In other words, ladies age 40 and older have diminutive value in the dating market. The prepossessing attorney disseminated her thoughts via Instagram.
“As black men age, their desirability increases thus their optionality of women is always expanding, and the exact opposite is true for black women,” Eboni, 40, explained. “As we age, doesn’t matter how much money we accumulate, our degrees or professional accolades, the reality is that our marriage and partnership market value is depreciating with every passing year. No matter how good we look, no matter how fit we are, men are still seeing primarily our presumed dwindling fertility as a knock against us.”
Social media reaction was unforgiving. One commenter wrote, “Let western women dig their own graves.” Another chimed in with, “It’s sad that American women have to listen to this 304’s advice.” A third viewer added, “She changed her tune due to hitting the wall and realizing there’s a small pool of eligible bachelors.” Eboni was quick to point out black chicks are graduating from college at a higher rate than their male counterparts. Only problem is African American women lead the nation in student loan debt.

Not to mention, lots of dudes are certified tradesmen earning big bucks despite not having a college degree.
For instance, plumbers have fat pockets.

This is the saddest message I’ve seen in a long time. This message discourages black women from pursuing education and accomplishment and asks them to redirect their efforts to compete more heavily for the small population of college educated men. I got married in my 30s after getting my Ph.D. While I understand the point, I think we need to be careful advising women to “hurry up and get married”. Rushing into marriage can come with its own set of issues.
As a Black woman who has been married and holds two degrees. Don’t be pressured into what society thinks you should do. Do what you want to do.

I don’t necessarily disagree with this take, the numbers and real life examples back it up. However, why are these conversations always geared towards Black women and NEVER Black men? These kinds of videos and online conversations feel click baity and it’ll certainly spark online outrage, the comments already show that, but let’s have more productive holistic convos. To my older single brothas, get your health in check. Kevin Samuels used to give young women the exact same advice he also called out older women for not being honest and warning younger women not to make the same mistakes they made that led to being too old single and childless. So I have to give Eboni K Williams some credit and some props for admitting her bad life choices especially after her viral bus driver video. Ebony even use the same terminology Kevin used (i.e. woman’s market value). Now watch all the black women attack her and call her a “pick me”.
Women in general get less desirable as they get older. I think she messed up by only trying to speak to blk women when she should have said this to all women. We also didn’t need the blk women vs. blk men talk constantly. It’s getting old. I have married ppl around me and I’m not going to ask an unmarried woman what I should do with that part of my life.

Who the heck wants 40 something year old cat with a bad attitude? Everybody swam in that pool and no one wanted to stay in it. There’s younger hotter women with better attitudes. These black women have no idea what’s coming. It’s going to come to a point where they have no choice but to realize they are unwanted and will see many men in happy relationships while the black women will only be going to dinner with other women (like they do now) and their mothers.

All single mothers Statistically struggle but the failure rate isn’t the same. Child abuse, failure to launch, juvenile delinquency, violence, failing school, dealing drugs or theft all are about 5x more likely with single mothers over single fathers.

I just turned the big 4-0 over a month ago & yeah, i got all types of chix looking at me left & right way, way more often than they did back in my 20s & a portion of my 30s. The odds are truly in a man’s favor as we age. We can basically take our pick. Ladies, you had ur chance to pick a solid man & lock him down when you were younger but sadly a lot of you chose degeneracy over decency & screwed urselves over. The delusion of a college degree equal money and status or smarter than everybody else is foolery. college is intended for you to have a career in specific fields where it is required within a system. If you come from another country with a college degree it’s not accepted..many men and women have made lots of money without it.
