COLUMBUS — The adventures of Pookie & Ray Ray continue. Stephan Turner, 60, was thrown in the slammer after he murdered his ex-girlfriend, 42-year-old Kandi Henderson, because she broke up with him. The femicide transpired around 4:30 p.m. on November 19th in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store Kandi worked at in Gahanna, Ohio — a suburb of Columbus. According to police reports, Stephan showed up unannounced at Kandi’s job – begging her to take him back. When she declined, the simpin’ geezer pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Kandi in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Stephan fled to his residence and barricaded himself inside. SWAT officers arrived moments later. Stephan surrendered after a 4-hour standoff. He was arrested and charged with murder. Those close to Kandi are absolutely devastated.
“I can remember back in the day when I was homeless, she opened up her home to me,” said long-time friend Rasheda Haile.
“I don’t understand why this happened to her, I miss her. We were real close… I just want to say to her family, my heart goes out to them as well. I understand the devastation and heartbreak. I’m heartbroken as well.”
Social media reaction was venomous. One commenter wrote, “What did she see in him? 💰💰💰💰🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ Women have to do better.” Another person chimed in with, “This is exactly why I left an older man alone. I just felt like something wasn’t right. They are the worst and the most jealous out of any group of men, especially if they have nothing going for themselves.”
