CINCINNATI — “🎵F*ck the police comin’ straight from the underground. A young nigga got it bad ’cause I’m brown.🎵” Rodney Hinton Jr. was thrown in the slammer after he ran over a sheriff’s deputy in retaliation of a cop killing his 18-year-old son. The crime of passion transpired on May 2, 2025 near the University of Cincinnati. According to reports, Rodney’s son — Ryan Hinton — and three of his friends stole a car and tried to evade police. Body-cam footage shows Officer Cian McGrath pointing his gat at Ryan before firing multiple shots — striking him in the chest and arm. Then he yelled, “Get the fuck down!” McGrath claimed Ryan was armed. But the footage doesn’t show the teen brandishing a gun. Nevertheless… the next day, Rodney descried the video and blew a gasket. Then he hopped in his car, slammed on the gas and ran over retired Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy Larry Henderson who was busy directing traffic for a graduation ceremony. Rodney was arrested and charged with aggravated murder.

Prosecutors want the death penalty.

During his arraignment, Rodney stared down every cop in the courtroom. He wasn’t intimidated at all. A GoFundMe account was set up on Rodney’s behalf. He was succored with thousands of dollars in donations until Jay McDonald, President of the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, sent a letter to GoFundMe officials — calling the fundraiser “absolutely outrageous.” He wasn’t alone.

More than 20,000 cops filed a complaint.

The GoFundMe page has since been removed.

“To allow fundraisers for a cop killer is just over the line,” McDonald said.

Social media reaction was wild.

One commenter wrote, “The brotha had a moment of temporary insanity after watching that video of how police killed his son needlessly, lied about it, then got off scot-free. Any reasonable person would have lost their mind and done something stupid in that situation.”

Another person added, “Cops been killing niggas for decades. Payback’s a bitch.”

Scuttlebutt has it a woman was driving the car and Rodney was merely a passenger.

She reportedly died at the scene.

  27. HELLO HELLO……….killing an 18 year old teenager, because he attempted to run AWAY from you, even while carrying a firearm…..ISN’T justifiable homicide! In order to legally use deadly force against somebody, police officer or not, your own life has to be directly threatened by the person. A person running away from you, and not pointing, or trying to point, a gun at you, doesn’t give you legally justifiable cause to use deadly force upon them, and extinguish their life —— certainly not, some kid running away from you. This fact is also the reason, the only thing you are hearing, is that he had a firearm —– because there was never any threat to the police officer’s life. If there had been, you would have already heard about that……again and again and again and again and again and again. Why do you think the police chief is highlighting ONLY that this man’s son had a gun —— because they are trying to sell you on the idea, killing this teenager as he started to run away from the police was alright, because he possessed this gun in his hand; and so, the killing was legal and justified (when it wasn’t), and nothing you should be concerned with, or angry about —— AND, his father would have no ligitamate reason to be angry either, or distraught (when he absolutely would) ——- certainly, no reason to act irrationationally against the police (when all the emotional motivation is there). Don’t be fooled people; the police wrecklessly killed this man’s teenage child.

  41. The children were not in a stolen car, They did not have a gun, and it was first reported on multiple platforms. The cop who killed that child is the same cop who was run over. Now, they’re trying to protect the dead cops image by lying on the child and father. It’s time to separate from the Colonials.

  44. I’ve buried 2 of my 9 kids. My 30 yr old we feel was murdered by drowning from her boyfriend but we can’t prove it. No marks they say. But from what I seen on another channel it honestly looked like the kid was running away and maybe tripped and dropped the gun and ran between the dumpsters as he was coming from between the dumpsters a cop was coming from I’m thinking his left around the side of the dumpster so I think the cop that came from that side of the dumpster shot him as he ran away because you can see by a still video that the young man was running and looked over his shoulder at the cop who shot him. If that makes sense. At least that is what i got out if the videos. I feel for the father. I know that deep sick feeling where you could just yell brother the bottom of your gut. Rip young man
