BAMA — Mama’s baby, daddy’s maybe? Family and friends are in mourning after 19-year-old Kynath Terry Jr. deleted his wife, 24-year-old Precious Johnson, before blowing his own brains out. The uxoricide-suicide transpired on March 1, 2026 in the maternity ward of Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, Alabama. According to several reports, minutes after giving parturition, a bedridden Precious pulled a Maury by telling Kynath he is “not the father.” Doctors and nurses witnessed the confession in stunned disbelief. Feeling mortified, Kynath (who served in the military) pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Precious multiple times before turning the pistol on himself. Medical professionals and patients ran for cover. The hospital went into lockdown. Law enforcement officials encircled the area. It was a chaotic scene.
“There are a few places in our world where we should feel safe — at church, our hospitals, and our homes,” Danne Howard, president of the Alabama Hospital Association, told reporters. “Unfortunately, things happen and we do not feel safe anymore. We want to assure the public that our hospitals and our healthcare providers consider safety just as important as providing quality healthcare.”
Social media reaction was wild.
One commenter wrote, “Who brings a gun to the birth of a baby? Every hospital should have metal detectors!!!”
Another chimed in with, “So she waited ’til she delivered to tell him it wasn’t his baby?”

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of people getting shot in the hospital. I recall in my lifetime about 3 times. A lady got shot in the basement of Henry Ford hospital in Detroit by an ex boyfriend and a drug lord killed a man in Detroit Sinai Hospital. We need to have metal detectors where the vulnerable sick people are!

I mean…5 years isn’t that big of an age gap. People keep saying they’re not at the same “stage” in life, whatever that means. There’s adults that are disabled and never got to have a life and never got to have a “20s era.” So there are situations where the older person is on the same level experience wise. 🤷
Both were legal adults. Not sure what the difference is between 19 and 24 vs. 25 and 30.
For example: if you got someone born in 1991 and someone else born in 1996, both people were born in the same decade. It’s not that significant of a age gap.
