Steak ‘n Shake employee is deleted over $5 onion rings

ST. LOUIS — The adventures of Pookiesha & Ray Ray continue. Jada Bell, 20, was thrown in the slammer after she Ctrl-Alt-Deleted “Steak ‘n Shake” employee Chauncia La’Shell Meekins, 32, over a $5 order of onion rings. The fatality transpired around 11:30 p.m. on April 8, 2026 in the drive-thru of the greasy fast food restaurant 🍔 located in the 11000 block of Bellefontaine Road in St. Louis, Missouri. According to multiple reports, Jada cussed out Chauncia for f*ckin’ up her order. She communicated something to the effect of, “Bitch, where’s my onion rings?” Jada threw a cup at Chauncia who retaliated by throwing a drink back at her. Torriono Baker, who was also in the car, gave Jada his gun. “Smoke that stud!” he reportedly yelled. At Torriono’s behest, Jada opened fire — striking Chauncia multiple times. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Twelve days later, Jada was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. She has the goofiest mugshot ever. Torriono, 22, was slapped with the same damn charges because he proffered the weapon. A male employee was also shot. He was transported 🚑 to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

What’s sad is Chauncia was 5 minutes away from completing her shift.

Her birthday 🎈 was two weeks away.

“I couldn’t believe it. I just talked to my daughter,” Chauncia’s mother, Tamela Washington, told reporters.

We were talking about her birthday. She wanted me to cook her a special meal, her favorite meal. Her birthday is April 23rd. Instead of celebrating her birthday, I will be burying my daughter for some senseless act over some onion rings.”

Social media reaction was wild.

One commenter wrote, “Imagine losing your life over a $5 order of onion rings, smh.”

Another chimed in with, “Since when did onion rings become more precious than life itself?”

A third person added, “Them onion rings must taste hella good if they worth killing for,” to which someone replied, “I just tried those onion rings for the first time last week, and they are fire🔥.”

Chauncia’s father, Chauncey Mitchell, is suing Steak ‘n Shake for not giving a f*ck about employees.

The lawsuit claims company officials didn’t hire security guards and they failed to monitor criminal activity in the area.

They also failed to provide de-escalation training for workers.

Had they done that, Chauncia would’ve gave Jada the onion rings and everybody would’ve went home happy.

Chauncey is seeking millions of dollars 💰 in damages.
