FORT LAUDERDALE — When a domestic dispute goes tragically wrong. Residents of Fort Lauderdale, Florida are in mourning after Dr. Jean-Dominique Foureau, 34, deleted his baby mama, 38-year-old Veloudre Petitval, before blowing his own brains out. The murder-suicide transpired around 4 a.m. on January 3, 2026 at a residence in the 4800 block of Acardian Trail in Coconut Creek. Dr. Foureau and Veloudre had contretemps during a custody dispute. As the quarrel intensified, Dr. Foureau pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking Veloudre multiple times before turning the firearm on himself. Neighbors called police. When officers arrived, they found the quondam lovebirds sprawled out on the floor. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Social media reaction was wild. One commenter wrote, “STOP ARGUING! It conjures demonic energy. GO TO THERAPY because a neutral party is needed to assist in problem solving, effective communication and conflict resolution.”

Another chimed in with, “I feel so bad for him. Who knows what she did to that man; pushing him like that. He deserved a lot better.” A third person added, “Them men in the military and police officers are crazy as f*ck.” Dr. Foureau’s LinkedIn page says he worked in the emergency department at Broward Health Medical Center. He was also a Battalion Surgeon in the Florida Army National Guard.

But a spokesperson with Broward Health told reporters Dr. Foureau hasn’t worked there in two years.

Maybe he was stressed over money?

After all, student loans and child support can be a bitch.

“While he completed a portion of his medical training within our health system, that training concluded in 2024,” the spokesperson said.

“And he has had no affiliation with our organization since then.”

Relationship troubles aside, those who knew Dr. Foureau said he showed no signs of depression or mental illness.

“I still can’t believe you’re gone JD!” Destiny Hart wrote on Foureau’s obituary page.

“You were like a big bro during our time in the military. Giving advice, mentorship, and support to everyone around you. You made a difference in so many of the medics in our platoon with your honest and sincere leadership. May you rest in peace CPT Foureau!”

Ludra was murdered in front of her kids for simply wanting to leave a man who finally fcked up one too many times and there’s no excuse for what this demon did to her and those kids. So educated and respected but wasn’t bright enough to just let her go. Mf could’ve just taken himself if he was ready to die anyway.

  34. I work at a hospital now and I’ve had medical professionals show interest in me but for some odd reason my mental capacity won’t allow me to get pass the thought of the ptsd of it all.

  41. I wasn’t aware of this horrific story. As a Black American woman and health educator, I will continue to say that adult males are a public health threat to children and women. Especially the adults males who a women is in a romantic relationship with or her male family members. Post pandemic, these stories are happening more often. I am praying for her children who have to navigate the world without their mother. 😔😔🕊🕊
