LAFAYETTE — “🎵My girl wants to party all the time.🎵” James Joseph, 44, was thrown in the slammer after he deleted his baby mama, 40-year-old Lerhonda “Lulu” Carter, because she dumped his ass. The femicide transpired during a domestic dispute around 2:30 p.m. on December 30, 2025 at Lulu’s crib 🏠 in Scott, Louisiana. According to reports, Lulu told James she was sick and tired of his bullsh*t so she’s ending the relationship. “Get the f*ck out!” she reportedly yelled. “If I can’t have you, no one can,” he allegedly replied. Amid trepidation of losing Lulu to another phallus, James pulled out a gun and opened fire — striking the prepossessing redbone in the head. Then he called his best friend, 49-year-old Jessie Alfred Jr., to help fabricate an alibi. The stratagem didn’t work. Detectives ain’t stupid. James was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Jessie was busted and released after posting bail on a charge of accessory after the fact.
James and Lulu share a son, Kingston, who’s now living with grandma.
Jealousy definitely played a factor. That’s because Lulu was no doubt the breadwinner🍞. Babygirl owned several businesses, including the French 75 Bar and Bliss Cocktail Lounge in nearby Lafayette. She was also featured on local news outlets multiple times as one of Louisiana’s most successful entrepreneurs. Lulu had it going on. James was relegated to vagrancy without her.
So, he didn’t have sh*t to lose.
Social media reaction was venomous.
